Visited: Looking Stead, Pillar, White Pike (first time on this remote Synge), Black Crag, Scoat Fell, Steeple, Great Scoat Fell, Red Pike (Wasdale), Black Crag, Yewbarrow North Top, Yewbarrow, and finally my first scramble up Bell Rib on the way down. Overbeck Bridge up to Bell Rib which presents an imposing appearance from here. Then circuit of Yewbarrow, Red Pike, Pillar around Mosedale to Looking Stead and down Black Sail track to Wasdale Head. Then long seeming walk back down the road to Overbeck. Last section to Bell Rib is loose gully topped by a short scramble to the bump on the south end of the ridge, care needed when slippery (which it was).Aye Jimmy30/08/2015

One of the trickier Synges. Leave the main path up the SW ridge of Yewbarrow to ascend a narrowing gully. Near the top of the gully, a short scramble right out of the gully (to be reversed) leads to a flattish top. Exiting the gully to the left, to continue to Yewbarrow, is simple.mae11/04/2008

Stopping at Dale Head again, took Richard Green up. Got message from Rick and Don that he had put his car through a hedge. Already had white out conditions going over Wrynose, picked Rick and Don up and stayed at Dale Head. The next day went up Yewbarrow, Jo blown off her feet and Richard hanging off rock, decided on tactical retriet at top and continued over to North top and round to left and down valley back to car. Good soaking and very windy.Mark T02/11/1991
