From Grange, going to Nittings Haw first, then followed faint path that got me close before easy last bit of ascent. Even though clear day still needed to use GR to make sure was at right place. Then up to High Spy.PeterD20/04/2023

The Newlands Horseshoe anticlockwise from Little Town, with the aim of collecting 7 Birketts / Synges not yet visited on my countless walks along the main ridges. So rather than ascending Robinson, I took the Scope End ridge direct up to Hindscarth, visiting the summits of Scope End, Red Knott and High Crags enroute. Then the usual path to Dale Head. Descended part way towards Honister Pass, taking minor track in a long sweep across the boggy High Scawdel, dropping past the head of Tongue Gill. There then followed very tough terrain along the side of High Spy to bag Low Scawdel and Nitting Haws. From there used the track to bring me out onto the main ridge. Headed S to the main top, then returned N to the N Top. Followed the wonderful cliff edge track to the summit of Maiden Moor, then on along the main track, before dropping steeply down the east side of the crags and across the undulating shelf to High Crags, and back to Little Town. 18km with 1200m ascent, taking me 7 hours.silveracorn_alan25/10/2022

From High Spy North Top. Not an obvious summit but an airy perch. On to Nitting Haws.Wycombe Wanderer10/11/2019

Lakeland at its meanest - for afficianados. From pt 618 (NY234167), below Minum Crag to hit stream and follow it down into the basin below Low Scawdel - very rough underfoot. Threaded a way up through steep rocks, grass and heather - all super-slimey. Quite clear that this hill gets few visitors - not surprising considering the terrain.Isbjorn06/10/2019
Good viewpoint that! Quite easy traversing round until last rather heathery bit. With Bryher.jenx20/05/2019

3 of 8 on a round from Borrowdale YHA. From High Scawdel. Not entirely clear which top Synge meant, the lower one to the E (NY 24252 16162) seemed preferrable, but NY 24194 16138 has to be a contender. On to High Spy.jonglew06/03/2017
Parked at Little Town to NW. Great day out in the sun for once with Mark T and Brian K. Nice summit High Crags with possible LAMP on Knott End. Carried on to Maiden Moor and High Spy, ducked off to pick up Low and High Scawdel. Low Scawdel very fine, perched high above Castle Crag, tricky traverse back round to High Spy/Dale Head col. After High Scawdel walk out down a good path to start at Chapel Bridge.nordicstar25/01/2017

Good path at first from Nitting Haws until one has to leave it for small track S through bracken. Very soggy after three wet days. Several possible summits, took reading on one with cairn. Outcrop 50m S is worth a look, profusion of whorls in rock from when it was molten.Aye Jimmy08/10/2015

FRom Honister via High Scawdel. Contoured round Robin Fold Edge. There are a few high points to choose from - I opted for NY24196,16133 which has a decent cairnCrib Goch01/08/2015
