Ftom Ambleside. Round of Low Pike, High Pike, Dove Crag, Red Screes, Raven Crag, and Snarker Pike.10.5 mlsmart079713/02/2024
My fourth round of the 4 Red Screes Wainwrights from the car park at Brothers Water, visiting Middle Dodd. Red Screes and its Synge Raven Crag, Little Hart Crag, and High Hartsop Dodd. Then I retraced my route back past Little Hart Crag and east along the ridge, before dropping by the old fenceposts past the impressive around Stand Crags to Stangs. A magnificent area below Dove Crag that I have not previously visited in my 60 years of Lakeland walking. Finally dropped down to the main track in Dovedale and back to Brothers Water. A great day, despite the misty conditions. 17km with 970m ascent 6h30m.silverwolf_alan31/10/2023

Solo walk from Brothers Water. High Hartsop (519m) first and Little Hart Crag (637m). Then another down and up to reach Red Screes (776m), then Middle Dodd (642m). Then I made the most difficult detour of the day, dropping to Stangs (474m) so I could bag the summit and then climbing all the way back to to Dove Crag (792m) and Hart Crag (822m). I then made a detour over to Great Rigg (766m) returning via my highest point of the day at Fairfield (822m) before walking back to Hart Crag and descending the ridge via the two summits on Hartsop above How (586m). A challenging walk as once on the fells I seemed to be constantly going up and down with very little level walking and the step counter measured 25 miles of 'real' distance walked. It was clear and sunny the entire day, some of the best views I've had up here for ages and relatively quiet considering the weather and time of year.meltdiceburg12/06/2021
