From Wet Sleddale car park Sleddale Pike, onto Tongue Rigg and then my final WO Ulthwaite Rigg.Alan Caine18/09/2021
Parking at Wet Sleddale reservoir - 'wet' is highly appropriate, only the very summits provided any semnlance of 'dryness'. Sleddale Hall, Scam Matthew, then almost trackless purgatory commenced - Ullthwaite Rigg, Tongue Rigg, Sleddale Pike, Wasdale Pike, Hazel Bank, Long Fell, quarry road, A6, Shap Lodge, track back to reservoir. After Scam Matthew intermittent ATV and An Tx provided a little relief from the interminable boot wrecking toody blussock grass. Having descended the quarry road, a sign says there is no public access (but it was a Sunday, so unoccupied), Only after having negotiated the bog to get onto it , a sign says that there is no public access along the cart track back to the reservoir, even though it is within an Open Access area.Isbjorn27/08/2020
With Sue and NB from the reservoir, via Lunch House and Grey Bull, Sleddale Pike, Great Saddle Crag, Ulthwaite Rigg Tongue Rigg returning past deer enclosure. Another wet summer day.Frank07/07/2020
2/5. From Swindale, up beside Gowther Crag and across to use track to Scam Matthew, then curve round to cross beck and directly up Tongue Rigg, back via Seat Robert to pick up Rowantree Crag and Langhowe Pike (Synge) before contouring down to the valley farm. A Synge leftovers walk that was actually very pleasant.nickywood107/06/2020
From the reservoir: Sleddale Pike, Great Saddle Crag and Ulthwaite Rigg, taking in the Lunch House and the Grey Bull, and returning by Tongue Rigg then Sleddale hall. Very hard walk going through heather and bog, windy and cold for JuneLazylizzie03/06/2020
A6 Shap Summit, Hazel Bank, Shap Quarry Mast, Wasdale Pike, Great Sleddale Crag, Sleddale Pike, Tongue Rigg, Ulthwaite Rigg, Harrop Pike, Lawyers Brow, Great Yarlside, Little Yarlside, Whatshaw Common, A6. Great area for solitude & marsh plants!Vin05/03/2020

As Moorsman. Faint path all the way along south fell wall. Back over footbridge (nice little gorge) and down the valley.PeteN07/11/2019
Short round of 3 orphan Synges from Wet Sleddale Resr car park. Shooters' track to the Lunch House then over rougher ground to Sleddale Park first before this one. On to Scam Matthew. 6.5 miles round trip.jonglew09/01/2019
From res car park. Brightening up, no wind, 14 degrees. Couldn't find Moorsman's path, got wet feet in the treacherous swamp. Descended ridge, then FB to north, then path from Mirethwaite. Not entirely straightforward but makes more sense to me. Long walk for such a small fell. Sun and Autumn colours livened up the route back.Wycombe Wanderer14/10/2018

In view of the recent dry spell,I decided to test Moorsman's EASY ROUTE.Path was(for me)difficult to find in the first field by the barn, but after that clear and dry enough all the way to the top. Thanks Moorsman. With Oscar.catman07/10/2016

Moorsmans Easy route ..... after leaving the reservoir car park (alt 951ft) follow the signposted path to the first gate. A short distance afterwards a track goes off to the left upwards to a barn. Take this path which passes through the wall at a gate. Turn immediately right after the wall and pick up a mainly well trod path all the way to the summit. Your boots but not your socks will get wet! 4.5 miles .... under 2 hoursmoorsman05/10/2016
Round of Long Fell, Sleddale Pike, Tongue Rigg, Ulthwaite Rigg, Great Saddle Crag, Wasdale Pike and Hazel Bank from Shap Pink Quarry.Eddie07/03/2016
Missed this one previously on circuit of valley. Parked by the dam, track then a lot of soggy ground beyond end of the reservoir direct to the hill. Not called Wet Sleddale for nothing! Quite nice summit area. Sun setting behind hill produced a corona of brilliant 'diamonds' - turned out to be tree plantings in shiny plastic tubes along the crest of the hill. Roaring stags heard too.Aye Jimmy12/10/2015
