An exploration of the hills to the east of Swindale (including 2 Deweys) from Swindale Foot (NY 521 142), visiting Langhowe Pike, Rowantree Crag, Great Ladstones, Seat Robert, Scam Matthew, High Wether How and Fewling Stones. NB no parking beyond NY521142. Squelch, squelch, squelch. Road to Truss Gap, water works bridge, soggy path NE then Langhowe Pike, Rowantree Crag, Great Ladstones, Seat Robert, High Wether Howe, Fewling Stones, Glede Howe, back to Truss Gap water works bridge. 5/5. From Swindale, up beside Gowther Crag and across to use track to Scam Matthew, then curve round to cross beck and directly up Tongue Rigg, back via Seat Robert to pick up Rowantree Crag and Langhowe Pike (Synge) before contouring down to the valley farm. From verge parking at SW of Rosgill Common. FP across Swindale Beck at Swindale Foot farm, then a circuit of the Wainwright and Synge tops of Langhowe Pike, Rowantree Crag, Great Ladstones, Seat Robert, Scam Matthew, High Wether Howe, Fewling Stones and Glede Howe, returning by the stepping stones at Truss Gap.
