Parked ok at approx 218213. Ditches & tussocks to 22212/21487. After 22344/21554 soon got to path up to col. On descent went along WSW above ditch/tussock area to track at 21821/21276 just along from car.duchally28/08/2023
A helpful local advised parking at the highpoint of the track. In the wet conditions didn't fancy the last steeper, gravelly bit, so parked at the turning area 221212. Waited for over an hour for rain to ease, during which time the OS map app malfunctioned, so took a photo of the hard copy map. Brief lull in the worse than forecast rain, went directly up, assailed by midges and chest high bracken on the steepest section. After that somewhat easier, aimed for the right of point 495 and easy from there. Descended on a WSW line avoiding the steep section, then a very short plod back to the car. Not the best bag.Owen B25/08/2023
Parked NH 2275 2104. Note - road from NE to Cougie is a forest track (generally good but for many potholes which can be avoided). The tarmac ends at NH 2972 2580 (Balcladaich). From parking, followed old logging track N. Leads to horrible area of windfall, brash and tall bracken - very hard going. Ridge better but still hard going. Left top SW, intending to follow open ridge W to track but this was so rough I turned S to reach track ASAP (trees felled) - equally awful but shortercarole engel03/07/2023
From Cougie along the track. Up via felling track easy to just below notch where bracken and tree debris made final few metres tough. On ridge easy going to summit cairn, with fine views into Affric.N.Morters21/08/2022
From Cougie. Along the track, then zigzagged up the south slopes. Might have done better to go further west before ascending. Hot.Jon F14/07/2021
Heather. Via Cougie path. Stunning day with much snow still on the big Affric hills. Recommend this hill for the stunning views!garbo110325/04/2021
Walked in from Glen Affric over some very rough ground, The first snow of the year on the Munro topsNozzer30/10/2019
Parked at the top of Glen Affric car park. Headed south by track at first, then rough hillside to next track, then up over lumpy terrain to the summit. Extensive views. With Nozzer.BigJ30/10/2019
From Loch Affric car park, with Ellie dog.BLACKHILL15/09/2019
Parked at Cougie. Forest road takes you easily to SW of hill before heading ENE to the summit. Rough going through heather, bracken and bilberry and ancient ditches from forestry. Wet but thankfully clear at the summit. Solo.bolton02/09/2019
Stopped and chatted to the owner of Cougie, very interesting to hear some history. Got permission to drive up the forest road and parked at a large parking area below the final slope to the high point of the road. Up a grassy valley crossing easily over the forestry trenches to get to the ridge at a dip. Many lovely wild flowers in the grass. Along the ridge over a bump, then a vague path to get to the top. Fine views. Along the ridge all the way back but much nastier forestry trenches at all the dips. Possibly better down the valley, who knows? A much better walk than expected with fine viewsGill08/06/2019
Cougie, forest road by bike and up the ridge. How did we miss each other Gill?!!iangalbraith08/06/2019
From Affric road end on marked path to Cougie. Up from gate at end of Loch nan Gillean. Slow going over felled area and old tree lanes. Down easier SW to forest road. Affric scarred by recent hydro work.PeteN21/05/2019

Drove past Cougie 1km along forestry track, but could have gone further. walked up tree-free zone on map to summit with decent views.willyross08/11/2018
Up from Loch Beinn a'Mheadhoin along Allt an Laghair to the tarn (much larger than shown on my map). Then along road to a gate and up open hillside to the top. Nice views to west. Down to ENE which is more open than shown on my map.Alan Moore20/04/2018

From Cougie. Head to the highest point of the track, the terrain is a little kinder from there.hils29/07/2016
Parked at Cougie then took track to its highest point. Then up the ridge to the summit. Terrain underfoot was lumpy due to a former plantation.garyhoney25/07/2016
Nice pine forest. And good views. Not difficult. Up from high point on track and down direct and steep to forest edge.jenx22/03/2016
From Cougie Lodge. Possible to drive another km along track, we walked.nordicstar22/03/2016
The second hill of the day. The route up though direct was rough though the snow probably helped underfoot. A fine hill to admire the larger summits from.Peterb24/12/2015
As per the log of Peterb. Fine views into Glen Affric from the summit. Hill had some extra character with the afternoon snow that had fallen. Ascended via felled area in the extensive forest.bowlesy24/12/2015
With Dave Roeder. Long drive along dirt road to Cougie and beyond to about 225211. Walked about 500m further till gap in wood on R and then up a very steep open slope to the summit. Damp after rain, limited views, but still a nice little hill. Finish 18:00dbb15/05/2015
From over Meall an Daimh after complicated wet col. Then dropped steeply to track to west. Golden eagle flying directly overhead. Nice friendly woman from stables gave me a lift back to vehicleMartin R05/01/2015
Used track from CougieAndrewFinnimore26/07/2014
Up from Cougie. Tree free from the track to the southwest.fasgadh29/04/2014
2nd of today tracks to base of hill, then steep deep heather to top.robertphillips27/04/2014
On a hot afternoon from main Glen Affric CP, via bridge over Allt an Laghair. Rough, pathless ground and long heather added to the burden. The surrounding forestry has been mostly cleared but the trenches and a few branches remain. An approach from the east may have been better.Topographer5708/07/2013
From the car park at the east of Loch Affric walked in to Allt an Laghair and ascended the western slopes. Decended to Loch nan Sean-each and then headed west. With Kev, Jenny, Jill and Dave on a very wet day.mindlessflogger22/12/2012
Ascended from Glen Affric carpark, following tracks, paths and the ascending from the west. Brilliant autumn day with Affric colours at their best.JohnW25/10/2010
Parked at Cougie. 2 miles on forest road. Steeply up by forest edge to strike straight uphill, into mist and around to skyline and to the left to top at 12.00. 4 small mossy stones at a fine point.arranc08/06/2007
