Beinn Eighe west to east starting from Cromasaig. Returned to the A896 via Coire Mhic Fhearchair & Coire Dubh Mor, before cycling back to Cromasaig.geoffh1215/09/2023
Very windy day with squalls and sunshine. Solo. From small car park west of bridge, followed the excellent Coire Dubh Mor path Nw around the north of Sail Mor and crossed the lake outflow (blowing backwards) at the outflow. Path sketchier round N and E side of Loch Coire Mhic Fhearchair. Then SE along line of lochans (east of Triple buttresses). Then east up loose steep quartzite gully. North side has quartzite ledges which are easier. North up wide ridge to Ruadh Stac Mor, return to col, then follow delightful ridge to trig and Spidean Coire nan Clach. Slightly scrambly but wide. Descend from trig, initially steep gravel zigs then steep mud and loose rock on east side of ridge. Final km nice improved path to road/ carpark north of Loch Bharranch. Hitched west 2 km back to car feeling weather beaten!Denise 14/09/2023

From parking near Loch Bharranch. Up the path into clag. Above 800 metres superb inversion. Up to trig point and the summit of Spidean Coire nan Clach then out and back to 2 eastern tops. Very rough hills. Then headed west to Coinneach Mhor both tops. Then headed down to Sail Mhor. Got over halfway down realised this was a rock climb didn’t want to be unable to reverse route and hadn’t read guides so headed back up and then on to Ruadh-stac Mor and down the scree gully to Coire Mhic Fhearchair. Beautiful place did think about going up Sail Mhor from here. Felt tired so just headed out and back to the car. Will come back to do Sail Mhor. Time taken 10 hours 25 minutes for 15.05 miles and 5456 feet of ascent.isabelle04/06/2023

Route over Beinn Eighe, starting with a camp in Coire Mhic Fhearchair. First climbed Sail Mor, decided against tackling the Ugly Step so descended part way from bealach and joined main path to reach the other bealach and on to Coineach Mhor (old and new summits). Continued east on the ridge to climb Spidean Coire nan Clach and descent by standard route. Near perfect conditions.RobertP18/04/2023

From the road to SSE, following good path up into Coire an Laoigh. At NG 9693 5937 left the path to take the fine rocky ridge Stuc Coire an Laoigh. Trig pillar first then almost walked past the scrappy little cairn that marks the summit. Continued E along the ridge for a couple of very fine hills - Sgurr Ban and the Sgurr nan Fhir Duibhe and some deleted Munro tops - dropping off the end and back to Kinlochewe. Started near plantation on road from Kinlochewe at NG97703 57804. Cloud from about 800m nearly broke through in to temperature inversion at trig point, but not quite. Beautiful thick ice formations on rocks on ridge to summit. Felt really safe with crampons. Day 4 of Wintermountaineering and Skills course led by Kevin O'Neale and with Al Simpson.mntainman06/02/2015
A quick jaunt up from the road. No detours, no ridges. Clear and sunny. Three and a half hours.Play2End13/10/2014
After looking down the gully I am pleased I went the scrambly boulder way. Skirted around Coinneach Mhor to save the boulder lump then proceeded carefully along the first ridge. Starting to feel a bit better about the airishness until the final summit push after the trig pillar took all my nerve. I am saying never again, but maybe with a group I would find it easier.LizzieG16/09/2014

With a friend. Pparked at 976568. We met a couple; the man was about to complete the Munros. We walked up the path into Coire an Laoigh and went up the ridge to the left, away from the path - this is called Stuc Coire an Laoigh (866m). We reached the trig point at 972m and the summit of Spidean Coire nan Clach, now promoted to a Munro (993m)*. We returned directly, following the path. *Earlier editions of Munro’s Tables had the trig point as a Munro Top, rather than the 993m point.pwbellarby23/09/2000
Solo on a clear & warm day. Walked around N side of hill via Coire Dubh Mor for the fantastic view of the triple buttress. Crossed outflow of Loch Coire Mhic Fhearchair, worked way along side of loch & ascended the eroded path to the bealach. (On another occasion in winter, thick ice covering the loch had broken up & a gale had blown it to the outflow where the jagged shards were crashing & clattering into each other.) Turned N for Ruadh-stac Mor, returned to the col & over tops to Sail Mhor. Then back along main ridge over Spidean Coire nan Clach as far as Sgurr Ban. Then found the eroded path back down to the glen & along the road to the start. (Again on 6/4/04 with Shaky, Smithy & TomP by similar route except ascended directly to Ruadh-stac Mor from side of loch & had to skip the tops & Spidean as a bright day suddenly gave way to a snow shower & then a thunderstorm crashed in from the W.)NotReallyABagger05/09/2000

A testing bit of icy mountaineering for us student novices equipped with an ice axe and enthusiasm but no crampons. Group straggle into the snowy corrie.Steeper slopes beyond were hard ice or knee deep snow in hollows. Progress was made by linking ribs of rock and small stones sticking out and cutting steps.Jimmy (the piper) soon slipped -unhurt, but put everyone else off except Dickie who pushed on, which prompted me thinking if he can do it, so can I -and with luck on our side we made it to the trig in mist (thought that was the top until a year later when came this way again!). We left crust remains of our lunch on a cairn to identify in mist where we had to leave the ridge in descent. Good fun sliding down snowy groves in axe braking position until we hit hard ice -much difficulty in getting across a frozen spur - step cutting in hard earth to reach another snow runnel to slide down back to corrie to join rest of group having a snowball fight. Next day 18 hours squashed in minibusChris Pearson02/01/1984

After climbing both tops of Creag Dhubh we went over Sgurr an Fhir Duibhe and Sgurr Ban to Spidean Coire nan Clach (NB trig point is not the highest point). We continued to Ruadh-stac Mór and other tops. It was fine and clear until 17:30 and then heavy rain.pwbellarby26/09/1982
