Parking in dedicated small gravel area at start of core path (NG8584178963). Fast progress S along FP, then slowed down by x 3 as left FP and headed SW after lochan at NG863765. Deep grass, pock-marked with booby trap planting divots, all way up NE flank, and sun directly in eyes, made finding optimum route very challenging. Took a straight line descent beside a line of lochans so as to get off this muck ASAP, much easier with gravity and the Sun behind me. A relief to get back onto the core path, stony though it is.Isbjorn20/10/2023
From CP to N. Along path to first lochan, SW to Meall an Spardain, then onto Meall an Doirein. Visited cairn and summit. NE to Meall an Doirein NE Top. Finally NNE to Creag Mhor Thollaidh SE Top and back to car.CJM09/09/2023
Car park then good path before heading over to Meall an Doirein, then onto Meall an Spardain, Meall a' Ghuirrain, Meallan Mhic Aonghais and finally Creagan Dubha.Dugswell207/09/2023
Nice to finish off with the highest of the bunch on a very enjoyable 10 Tump linear walk from Loch Bad an Sgalaig to Tollie.Alex C05/09/2023
From Red Stable to Meall Aundrary, two intervening tumps and Sithean Mor. Onwards to Meall an Doirein SW Top, Meall an Spardain and Meall an Doirein proper. Returned via Meall Loch na Feithe Mugaig and SE shore.lordtonult12/09/2021
Along track from Tollie (all mapped fords now with footbridges or massive stepping stones) to 243m spot height, followed small foot track SW, around 327m summit, then W (N of 357 m summit), then S on W side of Meall an Doirein, reaching summit area and summit itself, returning N and NE to S end of small lochan at NG863764 and E to main track, back to Tolliekdbennett22/08/2021
From tollie. Complex lanscape.VerySlowPlodder21/08/2021
From Tollie parking area, up the Slattadale path to the NE top, then the Marilyn and descent over Meall an Spardain.willyross10/11/2020
From parking place below L Tollaidh (7:55) followed well-engineered path to the high point, then up the crest of the sharp peak to the S. Descended to the broad ridge beyond and thence to summit. Overcast but good view. Descended steeply N and without much difficulty followed the broad slabby ridge leading directly to the small loch and the path. Finished 11:05. Mostly dry with the odd light shower.dbb29/08/2020
From the Tollie car park at 858790. Good path up the pass then to the NE tump first and then picked my way to this top which appears to be the cairn set back and not the visible one on the way up. Solo.bolton03/08/2020
From Poolewe road. Great views and fine Lichen on boulders west of the Matterhorn!mindlessflogger17/01/2020

Following Tiollie path making easy progress even over swollen rivers. At the high point curved round the shapely NE top on vague path and up onto the rocky summits, both cairns visited. Clearing dayN.Morters11/08/2019
From the CP at the bend south of Poolewe. Very hot day; morning walk. With Sam.ChrisR25/07/2019
A lovely walk up from Tollie via the NE Top then on to Meall an Spardain.NormanW14/06/2019
On the first day of an iffy weather week in Gairloch. Clag over higher summits, so set off with J, Shaky & Smithy from the small parking area on the A832 at 858790 following the good footpath. The mini-Matterhorn ahead (NE top) was too good to resist, so ascended that via the sharp N ridge then descended the gentle S slope & wended up the open slopes to the summit. Decent view despite the clag. Descended NW to mini col & then headed underneath cliff W of pt 357. At this point a path/ATV track was picked up leading all the way back to the main path which was handy. A good short outing.NotReallyABagger19/05/2019
In May 2015, Alan Dawson wrote in Marhofn: The 10km grid square with the most Tumps [in the whole UK] is NG87 with 61, seven more than any other square. This covers the area between Gairloch, Poolewe and Loch Maree. It has only two Marilyns, with 420m Meall an Doirein the highest. https://www.rhb.org.uk/marhofn/marhofn294/marhofn29418.htmPete R01/09/2018
2nd of 4 Marilyns in day car bagging with Jon Glew. Started from footpath to Slattadale on A832 (NG85843 78965)following footpath to lochan north of Meall an Doirein NE Top. From here picked best way through heather and crags to summit. Had feel of a reel mountain with ice and snow covering rocks. Return to footpath over Meall an Doirein NE Top. Total distance walked 5.23 miles with 420m of ascentmntainman06/02/2018
Small parking area due N on A832. Good path S to NG 8628 7668 when we veered off into the rubbish. Picked up the NE top on the way back. With Steve Smith.jonglew06/02/2018
Along the Tollie path, from the Poolewe end, surprised to find bridges or massive stepping stones for the river crossings. Up to the lochan near the high point of the path, then off piste into the mist and wind for some excellent navigation practice. Out via the tree- and hole-infested valley heading south from the lochan, past pt 269, and then SW to MaD, via crags and heather. Back via the valley heading NE to the lochan, much better, no trees.Gill22/12/2017
Parked by main road and took good path to waterfall. After deer fence path gradually disappeared and followed burn to loch and across to summit. Back via newly-promoted Sidhean Mor and superb views out west.AndrewFinnimore21/01/2017

From the small CP on road above Poolewe. Weather settled in morning but forecast to break down again midday. Good track affected by electricity board caterpillar vehicle doing maintenance on masts along route. From high point on track a wet slog up 200m of variable going to large cairn visible from below and smaller cairn set back on highpoint 50m distant. Rain returned on way down.nordicstar03/08/2016
Interestingly craggy area. After the path the new plantings made for rough going in places.jenx03/08/2016
A meandering route to get to this Marilynn with Frances who was not impressed with the route choice, but ok with the views to Loch Mareelangskill12/07/2016

MC, JC, IS, O. Overcast day but with occasional shafts of sun. Very clear visibility. Climbed up NE slopes. Fantastic viewpoint to Flowerdale, Torridon, Loch Maree peaks etc. Descended to N and went over the NE top which appears as a fang from the Slatterdale path. Then on to Creag Mhor Thollaidh. Both fine viewpoints.Martin6602/01/2016
From 2km S of Poolewe, up well maintained Slattadale path to about 200m before highest point, then passed between a lochan and an impressive looking pointed hill. Then south up the course of a stream to a flat area, SW passing under an obvious escarpment, and on S up to summit. A sunny day with excelleny views to Skye and Harris but the wind was near gale force on the rocky summit.Topographer5715/10/2014
Parked in small car park on A832 at NG 859 780 - room for 2-3 cars. Took good maintained path south to first lochan. Then headed SSW over pathless ground over two ridges and climbed steeply but easily up gully on north flank of hill to summit - not the prominent cairn on N end of summit ridge. Descended by the gully, and then NE to lochan west of the fine Meall an Doirein NE Top, joining the main path again east of lower lochan. Sunshine & showers.Man of Kernow128/10/2013

Done on 'rest' day after A'Mhaighdean epic (13.5hrs) yesterday. Very hot and combined with Hump to north took a long time. But the views are great and I got some good health news whilst sat on the summit. It doesn't get much better.chriswatson13/07/2011
Parked at the car park to the north and strolled in on the maintained path. Left the path around the lochans and soaked in the views on the way to the top.garyhoney09/06/2010

Climbed from our self-catering outside Poolewe, mid-April on a clear day. Breathtaking views, especially Slioch which from this angle rises across Loch Maree in teirs of rock, steep and impenetrable. Climb this for the views!Kevin2903515/04/2008

From the Poolewe bend by a long run out on the track/path.Eddie03/12/2006
Parked at start of path to Slatadale. On VWDP given NTS treatment - 3' wide for most part, fill in gravel boulders for step ups, etc. Bore right at top of path to find a faint path to S prow of Matterhorn-like lump to west. Around the corner to see RP. 3/4m trudge downhill then up to bealach. Negotiated final crags to top at 14.05. My 1200th Marilyn.arranc02/07/2005
