3 of 3: From Sgurr Breac bypassing Toman Coinnich. Bright sunshine and a strong cold wind which kept us moving. Plenty of snow and excellent views. We returned to Toman Coinnich and descended via Druim Reidh as it looked the easier option in the conditions. With Sam.ChrisR12/11/2023
Parking in layby on A 832 to west of estate track. 2 km estate track south to bridge over Loch a Bhraoin outflow. Follow boggy ATV track west along loch shore. Head steeply uphill over thick grass/ ATV to east of mapped sheep fank to waterfalls. Path bypasses to east. Thereafter follow path on east side of Allt na Goibre on less steep ,easier terrain. Boulder hop to west bank at convenient point- lots of water today. Wide and friendly near outflow. Head Nw then west up steep but ok slab/ moss ridge Sron na Goibhre. Follow fence posts South easily to col at c 960 m -NE of A Chailleach . Quickly ascend there and back. Follow ridge east to Sgurr Breac by passing Toman Coinich to south on grassy slope. Good path up Sgurr Breac with steep drops north. HP is eastern summit cairn. Retrace steps to Bealach a Choire Bhric, ascend Toman Coinich. Excellent ridge path north starts from cairn. Lovely quick descent down Druim Reidh . From c700 m descends NE . Boggy path back to loch outflow. Solo.Denise 18/09/2023

59 - Big day doing the 5 Western Fannichs from the usual layby on A832. Steep ascent up the Leitir Fhearna was probably the toughest part of the whole day. Small be decent side path to the Bealach Toll an Lochain avoids the needs to climb Tom Coinnich twice. Summit cloud cleared on final approach giving excellent views to An Teallach.huwthomas01/08/2023
Parked at usual start point for Western Fanniichs. Headed up A Chailleach along bypass path for Toman Coinnich. Retraced steps the up Toman Coinnich and on to Sgurr Breac. Then lost a lot of height to then climb up Sgurr nan Each and Sgurr nan Clach Geala. Then ou to the top of Carn na Criche and on to final Munro of Meall a Chrasgaidh. Lost the path on the descent ended up above some small crags so had to take care but got back down to main path and then car. Time taken 8hours 50 minutes including stops for 16.25 miles and 5708 feet of ascent. Warm and sunny all day. Super day.isabelle08/06/2023
with Gary and Karen on RC Easter meet. Very windy at the top but managed to stay upright.Cumbrianexile09/04/2023
Cool and windy on this top, distant peaks visible but hazy, Loch a'Bhraoin looked great though. Very dry underfoot. Day of extreme heat further south.NorfolkPT2119/07/2022
Loch a' Bhraoin layby - up Druim Reidh to Toman Coinnich - two out-and-backs to A' Chailleach and Sgurr Breac in persistent drizzle - back over Druim Reidh. With FJ.Mark Jackson13/06/2022
From parking on A832 above Loch a' Bhraoin: A' Chailleach, Toman Coinich, Sgùrr Breac, Sgùrr nan Each, Sgùrr nan Clach Geala and Meall a'Chrasgaidh. Absolutely glorious weather. As mproudfoot- Sgurr Breac & A'Chailleach and the three munros on the Sgurr nan Clach Geala ridge, linked up via a hefty drop and re-ascent between Sgurr Breac and Sgurr Nan, but took tricky traverse route round the side of Toman to the bealach.Lazylizzie04/06/2022
I headed for the two Munros at the west end of the Fannichs range, parking on the A832, I set off into the peasoup of mist toward Loch a’ Bhraoin, then up above mist to the Munro Top of Toman Coinnich (935m). Followed by the Munro of Sgurr Breac (999m), then west around the back of Toman Coinnich to the Munro of A’ Chailleach (997m). The views were immense once above the clouds, which didn't raise above 500m all day, leaving the surrounding mountains appearing like islands. I met a walker from Dundee called Ross on the way up through the cloud and we walked around for the rest of the day. The final 100m of descent was in darkness with the head torches on, just to make it fun, 08:20hrs all in.chillyman818/12/2021
With Frank. From lay-by at NH161761, via Allt Breabag valley to Col, then Sgurr Breac, contoured round Toman Coinnich and up to A'Chailleach. Then back to Toman Coinnich summit, descending via Druim Reidh ridge.Crib Goch31/08/2021
From lay-by on A832 (west of Braemore Jnct)and along the Allt Breabaig. Walk in company of Martin Roberts. Dry but cloudy on top. Descended via Munro Top of Toman Coinnich.knarf31/08/2021

Another big day in the Fannichs! Although often done as two separate days, Sgurr Breac & A'Chailleach and the three munros on the Sgurr nan Clach Geala ridge, can be linked up via a hefty drop and re-ascent between Sgurr Breac and Sgurr Nan Each. And so, on my own this week due to the usual suspects all being otherwise engaged, that's what's I decided to do. A strange day with the first two munros covered in clouds, but later on it cleared to blue skies and sun, albeit with near freezing temp wind chill. So 5 more munros ticked over 15.5 miles, with over 1900m/6260ft of ascent - job done, albeit with multiple blisters, and back to crabbing down the stairs like someone that's just learning to walk againmproudfoot06/09/2020

Climbed solo. From A832 to north. Via Loch a Bhraoin, Allt Breabaig, 550m bealach, SE ridge of Sgurr Breac, Sgurr Breac, Toman Coinnich, A' Chailleach, Sron na Goibhre, Toll an Lochain, Allt an Goibhre, Leitir Fhearna, return to road via footbridge at end of Loch a Bhraoin. Misty over 700m and very windy, drizzle. Straightforward ridge walk. Nice easy path to 550m bealach. Rough ground on Leitir Fhearna with a deer fence (unmarked on map) to negotiate ... there are stiles in the SW and NE though if you can find them! Odd trench on A' Chaillleach summit.jamessteel10022/07/2018

Solo. with Sgurr Breac. McNeish route. His return route awful. Strongly recommend coming back same ridge as ascent (Druim Reidh) despite having to go back up a bit early on.highlandchief01/09/2017
From parking on A832, S past Loch a'Bhraoin, followed tracks up Leitir Fhearna and along Druim Reidh, contouring round to bealach below A'Chailleach and ascended it, return to bealach, over Toman Coinnich, onto Sgurr Breac and descended E ridge to bealach, thence N along stalkers' path. Crossed Allt Breabaig at footbridge near NH163748 (not marked on OS maps), rather than use fordkdbennett09/07/2017

Day 2 of a Fannaichs expedition. Camped just below the sunmmit of Sgurr Mhor. Waited for the rain to stop before setting off,but it started soon after: Carn na Criche, Beinn na Crasgaidh, Sgurr nan Clach Geala, Sgurr nan Each, Sgurr Breac, An Chailleach down Drum Reidh to the bike at Loch Bhraoin and a ride back to Loch Glascarnoch. From A832 layby, a round of Sgurr Breac, Toman Coinich and A'Chailleach.rhalstead30/06/2015
Followed the glen up to Beallach at GR173705. Fords marked on OS map do not exist so stayed on West side of stream, which was fine, although there is a bridge farther downstream (also not marked on OS maps). Up to Sgurr Breac on mainly grassy slopes with a tiny bit of scrambling. Across to Toman Coinnich and then A'Chailleach, back to Toman Coinnich and then down the ridge. First 3K was very gradual and then last bit very steep. Fantastic views today, no cloud, no wind.tsharp10/06/2015
