Tom Ban Mor, Sron Liath and Am Faochagach from eastern end of Loch Glascarnoch.JasonStark24/02/2024
Parking at Black Bridge (NH373708). 1 hr to Strathvaich Lodge. 100m N of the lodge, a TLV tk starts up gravel zig zags but soon deteriorates into 15m wide of steep gloop. When the TLV tk veered sharply S and began to traverse, I turned R on an upward ATV tk, which, after ascending for a while, led into kms of exhausting boot sucking gloop along the E flanks ending at about 600m just N of Allt Coir’ a’ Chliabhain, from which I escaped up to Craig Rainich. (I may as well have filled my boots by wading through the Abhainn a’ Gharbhrain and saved some energy). Then a semblance of sanity over the never ending tops to Am Faochagach. Returned along ridge to Meall Coire nan Laogh and found TLV tk descending and joining up with the up-TLV tk, aquaplaned down the Teflonic TLV tk and another hour’s slog on the tarmac. Nothing like it was 30 years ago before the rise of the machines. HORRIBLEIsbjorn 3rd Round18/10/2023

Am Faochagach from Loch Glascarnoch. Thigh deep river crossing.Geoff Briggs13/08/2023
Early start; east walk up from the west end of Loch Glascarnoch. Good path most of the way and then easy walking along the tops. Has been exceptionally dry so no problems with the river crossing it was a trickle. Sat and enjoyed the views from the summit. Lovely peaceful spot great visibility. Time taken exactly 3.5 hours for 9.14 miles and 2311 feet of ascent.isabelle09/06/2023
Munro 119 Rnd 2. Came up from Glascarnoch Dam this time. With Jill.Dangerous Dave25/04/2023
4 of 5: From Sron Liath and again on our return from Carn Gorm-loch. We left the bikes at Strathvaich Lodge: 15 minute ride from Black Bridge. This was a much more interesting route than my 2 previous visits from Torran Dubh. There was a guy operating an amateur radio set at the top and he was in contact with a German operator. He had just left when we returned. With Sam.ChrisR13/11/2022
Quite a long walk in from Black Bridge. Pretty easy going. Fine day. The track runs to within 2kms of summit. Returned by same routewychwood16/09/2022
Am Faochagach and tops from Strath Vaich. Followed estate road to Strathvaich Lodge and climbed W to reach ridge. Detour to climb Meall an Torcain then back and climbed Meall Coire nan Laogh, Tom Ban Mor, Sron Liath, Am Faochagach and Carn Gorm-loch. Returned, bypassing summit of Am Faochagach and descent via summit of Meall Gorm and Glas Toll Mor, contouring to reach track down to Strathvaich Lodge. Mainly good visibility, strong breeze.RobertP09/06/2022

Solo - usual route from Torrandhu bridge on the A835. Recent dry spell made the river crossing a breeze without the need to remove boots, and the few remaining boggy sections were easily negotiated - weather was warm, dry and cloudy with a few sunny spells and a light breeze. Left car at 6am with head torch on, hit the summit at 8am, back at car by 9:45am.mproudfoot13/09/2021

Glascarnock weather mast route. Parking interesting very busy. River crossing ok Calf / Knee deep. Started with low cloud which cleared with views as far North as Hope and Morven.GmacT16/05/2021
26 years later. Now easier with a bike and atv track from the lodge.BaggerGutt25/08/2020
I bagged Am Faochagach (954m) today, this was the last Munro I had to do north of the A835 Inverness to Ullapool road. So I'm pretty chuffed to have completed that northern chunk of the country. I drove up this morning and didn't start till 11:50, returning to the car 05:50hrs later. It was a scorcher of a day, but that meant the bogs were dry and I was able to cross the river, I tried this hill back in July but failed to cross the river then. Cracking views in all directions, in particular the adjacent Beinn Dearg group and mist clinging to An Teallach.chillyman814/08/2020

Solo on a cracking sunny day - all the showers missed me to the south. River high and fast after the recent rain - crossed in waders at the wee island near the loch. Straightforward. Nice easy walking hill with superb views, particularly of the corrie to the west (Creag a Choire Ghranda). Well worth the trip. NOTE the wee ditches near to the carpark are VERY deep - must be jumped. I thought i'd wade across as i had the waders on and went in chest deep.highlandchief05/08/2017
With Patrick and Fergus. River was very dry. No water in the first part of the crossing and managed stepping stones over the 2nd part. Didnt see another soul all day. Fantastic time with the boys.MoragElizabeth29/07/2017
From parking on A835, crossed Abhainn a'Gharbhrain a near NH280754, followed track E of Allt na h-Uidhe to ridge, then along to summitkdbennett11/07/2017
Bike and hike. Park at parking area at Black Bridge on A835. Cycle in to Strathvaich Lodge along Strath Vaich on tarmac (cars not allowed up Strathvaich). Pass south of the Lodge to pick up a path that takes you up on to the ridge. Easy walking NW along the ridge, over increasingly high summits, to the rounded top of the Munro. Great views of Beinn Dearg range especially. Return by the same route. A creative alternative the generally recommended and probably very wet route from Dirrie Moor.DampandDusty09/07/2017
Climbed after a nice night's stay at the Loch Maree Hotel (where cyclists doing the Celtman super triathlon streamed past early). Tricky stream crossing and cloudy and wet on top. Done with Maggie, Sam and Roy.dave neilson17/06/2017

Solo walk from the weather station. Lots of rain so had to cross river by the outlet of the loch.mikejacobs04/08/2016
With Tony, sun! with cool breeze on tops. River crossing no problem, ascended via Meallan a Butha for views and breeze to keep flies away! Saw deer with fawn, mountain hare. T returned via Tom Ban Mor etc down to Aultguish Inn (final 1.5h boggy plodge) whilst I went down along main route by stream, stopping for a welcome dip on the way.zoob31/05/2016
Beautiful cold clear day. Burns almost empty as everything frozen so no problems below the mountain. Snow soft at times but easy going on the topyounggl15/02/2016

Easyish bag. Fairly boggy. Makes no real difference to cross upstream or down, your feet will still get wet.Jhimmy05/07/2015
Crossing the river was no problem. Mild and clear summit. Feel optimistic about the YES/NO vote!Play2End12/09/2014
Solo, 1. Parked up at Black Bridge and cycled in to Lodge. Was asked to avoid the route from the dam and instead use the ATV track behind the lodge, very wet. Snow and driving winds with no shelter up top, touched cairn and back the way I came. 27.9km, 1000m, 7hr20.bowzi20/01/2014
Solo. From Black Bridge followed track to Strathvaich Lodge. Then on track that goes towards Am Faochagach. Deviated from track to summits of Meall Coire nan Laogh, Tom Bàn Mòr and Sron Liath. Reached the summit of Am Faochagach and returned down track.pwbellarby21/10/2013
