From Black Bridge (NH373708), cycled/pushed along E side of Strath Vaich to track's highpoint (369m spot), then up the very steep slope direct to summit, return same way, except used short muddy track below the dam to cross river on new causeway and reach the asphalt back to Black Bridge that bit sooner (5h25m [1h30m from 369m spot])kdbennett26/02/2023

Long walk from Black Bridge making the best of a very poor day weather wise. SMC guide isn't wrong when it describes the slope above the highest point of the track as 'ferociously steep'.benalder28419/06/2022
Biked in to Deanich along Gleann Mor from the Alladale car park. About 2 hours, if you're gung ho on the many little descents and including a tea break. Not difficult but quite a few stony potholes. Good scenery. Left bike at Deanich and took the Gleann Beag track. Trying to traverse in from pt 315 is shitey heather, so I reverted to the easier bog grass below, then took the first decent line up to emerge E of the 475m bealach. The reward for the short steep climb on shite is a very easy stroll curving SE to the top. Tundra, then bog grass, then tundra, all easy angled. The mist cleared when I got back to Deanich but at least I missed the rain. Probably one of the most pointless little bumps ever in the midst of so much magnificence.Gill08/06/2022
with GN, from bridge to N, and took direct line up in SSW direction to ridge. Pathless. Great viewpoint. Onto Seanna Braightrimarc231/05/2022

First day of a multi day round with the bivi bag. Biked from Black bridge leaving bike at last bridge before road high point. A steep but uncomplicated climb straight up Meall a Chaorainn, round to Meall a Chuaille, on to Carn Gorm-loch and down to bivi near bealach before Cnap Coire Loch Tuath. All straightforward going.dickscroop20/07/2021

From Beinn a' Chaisteil. Initially north, skirting the top of Allt nan Cumhlain, then descending steeply on short heather to the track. Over the stream. Found the very direct ascent hard going, being very steep with the unusual terraced formation. Descent was easier, like a staircase. Then an hour's easy walk back to the bike at Lubachlaggan, 45 minutes from there back to Black Bridge.Owen B23/06/2021

Long route from Black Bridge. Along Strath Vaich. Very steep climb to flat summit of Meall a' Chuaille, traverse to Meall a' Chaorainn, then very steep descent back to track. Continued over Carn Lochain Sgeireich, Carn Feur-lochain, Dunan Liath then Beinn Tharsuinn and camped by Crom Loch. In the morning on to Carn Crom-loch and return. Rain for most of first day with low cloud, but cleared later.RobertP31/05/2019
