Parked at forestry entrance 300m east of Whale Cottage track. Went north past cottage along rough ATV track to around 250m altitude, crossed stream and headed for Breac-Bheinn. Then fairly direct line to Meall Dheirgidh. No problems with fences. Then down towards incoming ATV track and back to road. | willyross | 17/03/2024 |

Over from Breac- Bheinn - bit of a grind. I wouldn’t recommend the fencing contractors who erected the deer fence. | Chris Peart | 02/05/2023 |
Parked on verge by passing-place at NH501926, NE along road then up track to Whale Cottage ruin, continuing on ATV tracks until N of Meall nan Eun, across col near spot height 326m, and up E ridge of Meall Dheirgidh, returning same way (3h35m) | kdbennett | 02/04/2023 |
With J during a week in Sutherland. Meall Dheirgidh & Breac-Bheinn from Whale Cottage. Parked about 300m W of track near river access sign. Entry to track flooded so climbed through broken wire deer fence... & got tangled up. J laughed, took photos, laughed a lot more & then helped free my feet. Passed ruins with cuckoo stuck on repeat & continued on reasonably dry ATV track, fainter higher up but worth following as far as possible. Meall Dheirgidh first over rough ground to deer fence. Fence still down at top allowing easy access. Back down fence line, then directly across dryish but rough col & on to Breac-Bheinn & trig. Dropped back SSW crossing the burn easily & picking up ATV track at about 250m & back to start. | NotReallyABagger | 19/05/2022 |

From the track to Whale cottage after Breac Bheinn. | Peterb | 19/04/2021 |
Ascended after Breac-Bheinn. Squeezed under fence before summit area based on others accounts but found that the deer fence has blown over at the summit area so there was no need for going under the fence today. | assynt_bob | 28/02/2021 |

P a few hundred metres W from beginning of (overgrown in places) track to Whale Cottage. Followed track & its continuation (grassy & less overgrown), almost to col. Breach Bheinn, Meall Dheirgidh & Meall nan Eun (high point appears to be at 49296 93796). | ger | 10/09/2020 |
From Breac Beinn with Ger. Descended to Meall nan Eun by north side of Loch. Number 3 on the round. | bolton | 10/09/2020 |
Unlike hill to climb three times! This time was after the search for missing Bob. With B and R. | jenx | 15/08/2020 |
From Croik, along track to 422 947. Diagonally using track up hill side until it stopped then across to Beinn Ulbhaidh. Back over Meall Buidhe, then Meal Dheirigh and An Cabagach and its S top. With B and R. | jenx | 13/08/2020 |
The usual ascent past Whale Cottage. Hot; cool breeze helped keep flies at bay. Many wild flowers of the commoner sort. | Jon F | 11/08/2020 |
Solo. Parked at start of track to Whale Cottage at NH503927. After ascending Meall nan Eun I went NW to the col with Meall Dheirgigh and up the east ridge of Meall Dheirgigh. There is a newish, high deer fence that goes up the ridge. It passes not far from the summit on the south side. However, it is possible to wriggle under the fence. The highest point is 8m N of the deer fence and 15m E of the cairn. I had thought of including Breac-Bheinn but there was more hail and it started snowing so I thought better of it and just went down to Whale Cottage and the road. | pwbellarby | 03/05/2019 |
From Whale Cottage via Breac-Bheinn. Showers of hail and sleet and serious snow on descent back to car. | NormanW | 26/10/2018 |

From Breac-Bheinn and then on to Meall Buidhe. A fine day. | Alan Moore | 29/05/2018 |
Followed the track past Whale Cottage, then headed over the south shoulder of Meall nan Eun, past the east side of the loch, and up the ridge to the top. Ran out of time to visit Breac-Bheinn so returned along the burn to the N of Meall nan Eun, making a nice circular walk. | martin_hall | 20/04/2018 |
Roadside verge parking at NH 5042 9280. Breac-Bheinn first via derelict Whale Cottage. On to Meall nan Eun before returning. Met Gill Stevens on a reverse route. With Carole Engel. | jonglew | 02/04/2018 |
Two little Marilyns were more than enough for a snuffling, sniffing, coughing, germ-ridden, sick bagger. From the Whale cottage track, then up to the col behind Meall nan Eun and deer tracks and hard snow to the top of Meall Dheirgidh. It is possible to wriggle under the deer fence to get to the summit, a better option than climbing the fence, which is unstable and falling over. The place is marked by bits of wood threaded through the wire. Panoramic views of every mountain to the north, from coast to coast. Down the fence, across the bogs and up to Breac-Bheinn summit and trig. Down snow and steep heather and across the river to the track. | Gill | 02/04/2018 |

From Breac-Bheinn over the moorland. Prolongued dry weather made it easy going. Sunny, fine views to Suilven et al | N.Morters | 04/05/2017 |
2 of 5: From Meall nan Eun. | ChrisR | 05/04/2017 |
Used the surprisingly good Whale cottage track to ascend up the burn line to 200m. The track continues to near 300m but somewhat wetter. Then cut along then up Dheirgidh to its ridge and deer fence to summit on its north side! Retraced the fence, moor and then fence line again to climb the multi top Breac-Bheinn. Direct down fell to regain the earlier track @220m. Surprisingly decent circuit considering how wet it's been. | nordicstar | 26/07/2016 |
A good track up to 300m then deer trails helped to make this one quite easy. | jenx | 26/07/2016 |
Solo jog. Up track past Whale Cottage to Breac-Bheinn then across to Meall Dheirigh. Great views to north and west. | amswanston | 20/05/2016 |

Parked on grass opposite track to Whale Cottage. Through deer gate on track past a ruined cottage and up on buggy tracks with river on the right. Turned left uphill on faint track which gave out, then a long flat section directly to RP and final clamber by new deer fence to top at 11.05. to B Bheinn. | arranc | 11/06/2007 |
