From Whale Cottage. On to Meall Dheirgidh with snow on descent to car.NormanW26/10/2018
Round of Dheirgidh and Breac from road below ruins of Whale Cottage.Topographer5725/07/2018
From roadside parking at start of track to the derelict Whale Cottage. This was by a footbridge, so it would be possible to park near the old school on the other side of the river. Failed to do point 463 as it was not shown on my old 1:50,000 map. However, it did look lower.Alan Moore29/05/2018
Started hike at base, not far from Whale Cottage. Ascended along an old track then along the creek bed. Creek has some nice little waterfalls and old scotch pines. Ascended with Martin.Fenrir22/04/2018
With Owen, from NH 50353 92768 up the track past Whale Cottage to join the burn, which we followed until 49239 94415, then NE up the heathery slopes to the cairn. From there, along the ridge to the top and on to the trig point before descending across the slopes just west of pt 422 to the corner of the forest, along the fence to cross the burn by Whale Cottage, and back down the track to the start.martin_hall22/04/2018
Two little Marilyns were more than enough for a snuffling, sniffing, coughing, germ-ridden, sick bagger. From the Whale cottage track, then up to the col behind Meall nan Eun and deer tracks and hard snow to the top of Meall Dheirgidh. It is possible to wriggle under the deer fence to get to the summit, a better option than climbing the fence, which is unstable and falling over. The place is marked by bits of wood threaded through the wire. Panoramic views of every mountain to the north, from coast to coast. Down the fence, across the bogs and up to Breac-Bheinn summit and trig. Down snow and steep heather and across the river to the track.Gill02/04/2018
Roadside verge parking at NH 5042 9280. Very poor track up to derelict Whale Cottage. Faint track leads on N. Crossed the Allt nan Eun at NH 4990 9402 then direct to here via old summit/trig. Across to Meall Dheirgidh and Meall nan Eun. With Carole Engel.jonglew02/04/2018
From the Strathcaron road, up via track which goes past ruin as a rough ATV track. Onto Meall Dheirgidh. Dry and sunnyN.Morters04/05/2017
3 of 5: From Meall Dheirgidh.ChrisR05/04/2017
Used the surprisingly good Whale cottage track to ascend up the burn line to 200m. The track continues to near 300m but somewhat wetter. Then cut along then up Dheirgidh to its ridge and deer fence to summit on its north side! Retraced the fence, moor and then fence line again to climb the multi top Breac-Bheinn. Direct down fell to regain the earlier track @220m. Surprisingly decent circuit considering how wet it's been.nordicstar26/07/2016
Ground between the two hills was ok. Then steeply straight down heathery hillside to whale cottage track.jenx26/07/2016
Solo jog. Up track past Whale Cottage to Breac-Bheinn then across to Meall Dheirigh. Great views to north and west.amswanston20/05/2016

Ascended from Strath Carron, on path past Whale Cottage. Moved on to Meall Dheirgidh.JohnW14/06/2008
Revisit. Heathery hill. Summit is 200m to WSW and 2m higher, with fine view including distinctive Assynt hills. Climbed with fasgadh: obvious route from SSE past ruined Whale Cottage.RHW03/05/2008
from old GR. Walked over from trig column . To buggy track and car.arranc11/06/2007
Round of Meall Dheirgidh and Breac-Bheinn from Whale Cottage. Freezing conditions made for good going over the bogs.Eddie24/03/2007
