Solo in drizzly weather. Cycled in and out from Black Bridge. Meall a' Chaorainn followed by Beinn Tharsuinn and finally Beinn a' Chaisteil.alexmaclennan22/09/2023

Bike from Black Bridge to Lubachlaggan - 5.5 miles. Followed path north of burn onto easy short terrain to the summit. Return in 4 hours 20 minutes. Dreadful part is through the cattle at 355737 in deep mud! Solo.bolton16/02/2023
With John from Black Bridge. Headed straight along the road up through Strath Vaich - continued along side Loch Vaich until Lubachlaggan and then headed up the hill on a decent path to around 550m. From there was an easy walk on short tundra to the summit. Returned via Meall a' Ghrianain and descended south to a farm track that took us back to the inward path. Returned to the car with a total time of 5h 29min. Sun and clouds, but cold wind up top.mproudfoot12/02/2023
From parking by Black Bridge (NH373708), cycled along road up Strath Vaich to unmapped causeway just below dam (ca NH347747), left bike, on foot up muddy rutted track, then E along track to ca NH359749, then NE on intermittent tracks to col N of Meallan Donn, then N up Meall a' Ghrianain to summit, easy walk along ridge to Beinn a' Chaisteil, descended SW past point 672m, then zigzag stalkers' track down to Lubachlaggan, S along track back to dam, thence to parking (5h35m [4h30m from Loch Vaich dam])kdbennett22/08/2022

Walked in. Same as Walkhighland route. Nice and sunny, slightly breezy up high. Mountain felt much bigger despite the sub 800m height. Also felt remote as well.Jhimmy06/06/2022
Cycle up Gleann Mor from Glencalvie Lodge with JW after ascent of Carn Chuinneag. Left bike beyond Deanich Lodge at 'Intake No.3' on the track. Short but steep heathery ascent to col and across 3k of moderate slopes to top. Fine views.John Lee28/05/2022

Late addition to walk, on the way back from Beinn Tharsuinn to Strath Vaichalda24/04/2021
Bike to 352803, between deer fences, straight up. Met at start by estate worker who said they were shooting there today. We said we'd do Meall a'Chaorainn instead, which is not their estate. Met by head stalker 15 mins later, who said they had shot on this Corbett yesterday and as there was no shooting today, we were welcome to go ahead. Mmm? Not helpful, is it. Sunny, windy and good views.iangalbraith16/09/2020
Left bike at sheepfold at approx 352798. 2 deer fences to cross from there but can be avoided by going up track a further 300yds.duchally21/10/2019

Solo fr Black Bridge - ran the many km along landrover tracks and hiked the rough frosty grass, as cloud encroached from the South. Already a bit tired back at car then long drive to Perth hotel (dreadful A9!), quick Asda visit near hotel on Dunkeld Rd, v late into room.NorfolkPT2115/02/2017
What a nice walk! And blissfully easy too. I took my bike along the track from Black Bridge, then up the stalkers path towards the hill. Beautiful views of the hidden coires of Am F***, Seana Bhraigh, and Carn Ban, Kildermorie hills/moors and Ben Wyvis. The hill top is gloriously easy to walk on, mainly short tundra and stones.Gill31/07/2016

Cloudy day with intermittent views from topoatcake23/06/2015
Up track from SE to just past forest then a round of one Corbett, one Corbett top, one Graham and four Graham tops. A good day if a bit windy. Got wet feet stepping into hidden pool when cutting through section of felled forest near end, otherwise dry!dickscroop25/03/2015
Loch Vaich very pretty, nice little ridge on top. Cold at summit. Company: Soloiandesbottes09/02/2015
Cannot imagine doing this without a bike on the long estate road. Do NOT cross the bridge on the tarmac road. Once you are up there is a lot of plateau.Martin R21/10/2013
round of 3 meall a chaorainn, carn ban, and beinn chaisteil, cycled up from black bridge through strathvaich to deanich lodge.robertphillips05/10/2013
W Jenx, backpacking in from Calvie Lodge. Pack near Deanich Lodge, then climbed Beinn a'Chaisteil direct, circled around tops to Graham Beinn Tharsuinn, and top back to packs. Camped by bridge at NH354840 (idyllic) before Carn Ban next day.nordicstar07/06/2013

From Black Bridge, Loch Vaich to Lubachlaggan, then up the hill. Seemed a fair way, but a mere roadside hill compared to the next Corbett up the glen, Carn Ban!Aye Jimmy01/05/2005
