Parked at NC139081. This is just by a large passing place and a long stretch of two way road. There is a grass area here which we got the car onto easily. Walked west towards the path and then traversed the hill returning along the road to our parking spot. The path all the way up is very good. The descent slope is very, very steep.KevPalmer07/07/2023
Parked at 11931-09162 cattle grid. What was a parking space about 300 yds to E is no longer possible & parking at passing place at path start isn't suitable. Up from cairn beside Loch Fhionnlaidh on path to bealach. Descended SSE/SE/SW to road at 13619-07093duchally22/05/2023
From due E, parking on minor road (NC 1265 0893). Mapped track to Lochan Fhionnlaidh, then unmapped track to summit. On to Meall Dearg and Creag Dhubh.jonglew30/11/2022
From the path at 127090 with Tony J, CM, Anne B and Jonny Glew. Just after the loch a steep path goes up to the bealach. Another steep path to the summit. Onwards to the SIMM.bolton30/11/2022
Cùl Beag and Cùl Mòr. What a day to be in the mountains!quadbarrel18/10/2022
With John from A835 south of Knockan Crag. Started in the rain, following the boggy path, passing Creag Dubh and up Meall Dearg. Rain had stopped by this point and clouds were starting to clear. Short descent down to Lochan Uaine before the final ascent up to Cull Beag, up a mostly pathless steep slope whiched eased as we approached the top. Fantastic views from the top across to Cul Mor, Stac Pollaidh, and the interesting Coigach peaks. Descent was a reverse of the route, and weirdly taking almost as long due to requently losing the path and ending up in bog and heather. Total time 3h 52min.mproudfoot15/10/2022
From road to east via Meall Dearg, back via Creag Dhubh, caught glimpses of Stac Pollaidh as cloud level rose and fell.PeterD12/06/2022
From good parking to east NC184079 - layby. Track NWN to cairn at NC 1758 0839 where west on peaty path. Becomes indistinct but cairns help lead the way.carole engel03/09/2021
Cul Beag and Cul Mor double. Long day 9.5 hrs. Very steep zig-zag path on north ridge. Took long way around to get to base of Cul Mor. Great views.Jhimmy02/08/2021

From A835 layby ca 1km S of Knockan, on loop of old road then track W to near Loch nan Ealachan, then over Creag Dhubh and up Meall Dearg by intermittent tracks on SE ridge, continuing to the summit, then descending briefly W and climbing to Cul Beag summit, returning (roughly) the same waykdbennett17/08/2020
With K from old road adjacent to A835 184081 via local tumps. Variable cloud level. Saw Ptarmigan.Ashley11/07/2020

From road near Stac Pollaidh to N. Up and down. Sunny spells, breezy. Stac Pollaidh later that day. Rounsfell12/08/2019
Cul Beag and Meall Dearg starting along the stalkers path to North and then up from lochan to obvious gap in the ridge. Fierce wind on final cone which combined with light covering of wet snow made it precarious. At one stage quite close to top felt it too dangerous to continue but soon decided that going back down was even worse! persevered to Cul Beag top where wind was not so strong. Easily along ridge to Meall Dearg and took an easier line off in the lee of the hill; to the east though chose a very steep line down an open gully but it worked out OKdickscroop04/04/2019
with cult mor quite long day but excellent. nth ridge is steep. HardenC07/03/2019

With J on the final day of a glorious weather week in Sutherland. From the Achiltibuie road, started a litte too far to the SE before the start of Loch Lurgainn & skirted Creag Dhubh before climbing rather unnecessarily over the minor lumps of 416m & 471m. Aimed straight at Cul Beag from there disturbing a red deer in the process & zig-zagged up the final slope topping out right at the summit. Impressive views & equally impressive drops to the W & N. Descended by a much smarter line on the way back avoiding the roughest ground.NotReallyABagger25/05/2018
Tough walk from Cul Mor. Good path from Cul Mor summit to about the 500m contour, then it becomes indistinct. Steep heathery descent to the lochan, round south of the lochan, then a rough grassy descent to the outflow of Lochan Dearg. Stream crossing very easy. Tough pathless and latterly steep heathery/grassy slog to the notch in the north shoulder. Then an eroded sandy/stony path to the summit. Descended contouring south of Meall Dearg to the track leading to the main road south of Knockan Crag.Owen B30/09/2017
From Linneraineach. Nice hill and views.twg2704/09/2017
Solo, parked somewhere near NC131078, jogged up minor rd then path fr 126088 to 130095 then up by stream ESE to little col at 140091, steeply to top. Overcast but mild and pleasant on top, lovely birds-eye views of lochans and other peaks. Half-jogged down rough grass S-SE-S-SW back to road. 7.50am to 10.20am for whole excursion.NorfolkPT2113/07/2017

Cairngorm Club Weekend Meet at Naismith Hut, Elphin. Solo. From layby a little S of loop of old road on A835. After exploring Druim Donn and Meall Dearg descended to col, where I met a fellow club member, and up to the summit cairn of Cùl Beag, where I met her again. Superb day, weatherwise, with excellent views. Contoured round the south side of Meall Dearg just to see what it is like. It is easy enough but not really any advantage compared with just going over Meall Dearg.pwbellarby09/10/2016
