Very pleasant approach along the glen from P at W end of Fankerton. Worthwhile finding the decaying track NW from Stoneyinch despite the gorse, till NS 77439 85282, then up gap by old spring.agentmancuso10/11/2018
From Fankerto Hut, beauty full walk up autumnal Glen Carron. At end of reserve head up into fields. Stay in pastures until RHW gorse free route. Pleasant varied walk.Campbell Singer01/11/2018
From Fankerton CP. Carron Glen pretty but once you leave it tracks hard to find amid gorse and bracken. Nice view from summit.Thearlaichdubh22/07/2018
As Minto to 727847 where the gorse has encroached across the path. Turned NNE over wall and up cleared area to the top ridge. One more wall to cross between second and last summit but no gorse. Great views, and dry.iangalbraith25/01/2018
Cycled up to Wester Barnego. Then track &cattle track through gorse. Don't wear shorts. In fact Kevlar over trousers would be a good idea.ngthack16/05/2017
Parked at Carron Glen car park near Fankerton. then tried to follow Minto's directions most of the way. Beware gorse and wet narrow tracks. Falkirk TUMP completion.Dugswell211/10/2016
A sunny evening walk from the Fankerton hut. Following the wall that runs between the two tops before the summit is a viable route through the gorse.Nick Down116/09/2016
As others fankerton hut path along river then track and up through gorse.robertphillips15/12/2015
Fine walk along Carron Glen from Fankerton Hut, and onto the upland area with superb viewsneimcv22/09/2015
Accessed from Lochend Farm, where I was staying.JohnW17/07/2015
With Tom. P at hall. Cracking walk along and above river. As Robb to get through the gorse. Fantastic views all round. Cairn at top.chrisbien16/05/2015
Minto route. Gorse free route to ridge starts NS77478527 leading to obvious dip in skyline. Prepenultimate Falkirk tump and a nice outingRHW26/04/2015
From B818 at Fankerton. Parking at village hall, or Carron Glen car park next door, right under the pylons. Path zig-zags down to bridge, across river and W on north bank. At wall/gate at end of nature reserve, continued 50m, then head up right on narrow path, steeply through bracken to Stoneyinch, and the track nearby. Where track turn more westwards (wall corner) head N then NE through GORSE(beware much of this) - narrow cattle tracks, to open ground on the ridge. Large summit cairn, with fine views.Minto23/11/2014
