Bus to gateway into Salen Forest near Garmony. Hydro track leads to water intake and gate onto open land above felled forest.Super weather. Continued form Beinn Mheadhan to Beinn Thunacaraidh and Dun da Ghaoithe. Back to campsite via mast track and road. With B and R.jenx18/07/2023
With Stephen and Robert from Craignure out through Torosay Woods then up to masts on decent tracks. Path pretty much all the way thereafter with a strange desire to go left before the trig (easy going from trig to top). On return took grass descant rather then the corner.SS04/06/2023
Penultimate Corbett, only Clisham remains. From Sgurr Dearg. Descended from Sgurr Dearg to the bad step, a narrow chimney probably only 5 or 6 metres high. Straightforward in dry conditions, nothing much to hold on to, but plenty of high friction rock for boots, knees, hands etc. Then an easy descent to the col, then up steep grassy slopes mostly avoiding the scree. Bagged the minor top, then over the attractive, easy summit ridge to the summit. Returned to the col contouring a little below the minor top, then up to the 600m contour on Sgurr Dearg, then contoured south west aiming for point 608, impressively the government emergency test signal received while doing so, rising slightly to avoid the worst of the scree and emerging at about the 630m contour. Then straight back down to the car at Torness.Owen B23/04/2023
From Craignure bunkhouse, along road then up track to masts, path continues over subsidiary top with trig and cairn to another cairn. Continued along ridge to Mail Buidhe.PeterD24/03/2023
With Sue on day of Queens funeral, from Upper Achnacronish where parked car off road. Walked the track to comms tower and beyond to next tower to Mainnir man Fiadh. Occasional paths along broad ridge to summit Corbett Dun Da Ghaoithe. Return same way, cloud and drizzle lifting to find views of mainland and surrounding area.Frank19/09/2022
From Upper Achnacroish with Moira.Followed gravel road up to masts and path beyond. Wet and windy at height.ColB09/06/2022
mainnir nam fiadh, dun da ghaoithe repeat, beinn thunacaraidh, beinn mheadhon, beinn chreagach mhor east top, beinn chreagach mhor, maol bhuidhe from upper achnacroish down to leiter for the bike run back to UA.robertphillips07/05/2022
An anticlockwise bag of Beinn Mheadhon, Beinn Thunicaraidh and Dun da Ghaoithe. It was only once we had crashed through the forest, as endured by others, and started to gain height did we see the new track constructed to build the new hydro system. Using the details below will make your circuit of these three hills much easier! Park at NM6794539696 and head up the track to junction and turn right at NM6793439629. Follow track to a junction at NM6757039487 and head west / up hill. Track twists along to at junction at NM6787539164 turn right and follow track to dam at NM6690638856. Then bag your Simms / Marilyn.BaggerGutt26/04/2022
A wet corbett with J.. full-waterproofs and a miserable trudge to the top via the masts with no visibility above 400m meant no views :( 3h 49min total time.mproudfoot17/04/2022

From small parking area on track to Upper Achnacroish. Via Mainnir nam Fiadh.squeegs19/05/2019
The veiws in all directions had opened out as we climbed the ridge - the skies were a bit grey but the views justified the effort. We continued along the ridge which is briefly narrow to the true summit at 766 metres. Photographs were taken and we had another snack. The return simply involved retracing the outward route with multiple stops to photograph sea eagles in the skies overhead. Frances had her new Lumin TZ90 with her and got some good photographs - the camera has a viewfinder rather than simply a screen with no eye piece. It was a longish but rewarding day on the hill and we worked up a good appetite for our evening meal.langskill25/03/2019

Wet and tiring walk in rain and low cloud from Scallastle to Dun Da Ghaithe, Mainnir nam Fiadh trig, then there and back bealach and Sgur Dearg. Walked out along the three masts road back to Craignure. also had to walk back to Scallastle as left other car key in the Scallastle car. 6 hours.alexmaclennan20/05/2017
A traverse including Sgurr Dearg, Meinnir nam Fiadh, Dun da Ghaoithe, Beinn Thunacaraidh and Beinn Mheadhain and diagonal traverse NE to road.Detoured south around bad step coming off Beinn Dearg, could not see a line from above, might have been more obvious from below. Final descent line had much poor ground, tussocks etc, would not really recommend it, there must be a better way. This apart, a good day.dickscroop14/04/2017
Parked one car at the forest car park opposite Java Hotel and one at the foot of the track to the telecoms masts. Walked forest track to the white foot bridge and then went down stream to gate left. Then followed fence up hill and then across grassy slopes to a gate through the final deer fence at a waterfall. Up the Beinn Chreagach to the top which was windy and in the cloud. Continued on to the first telecom mast in cloud and used track for descent.mindlessflogger17/12/2016

With G. From Craignure on track > Druim Mor > Maol nan Uan on transmitter track > Mainnir nam Fiadh > Dun da Ghaoithe returning NNE towards Beinn Chreagach then E down to Scallastle & track/road to Craignure. Final descent to Scallaste through scrub tricky (NM 694 377) & no obvious route - apparently N via Cnoc a' Bhacain is the way to go.RT197018/09/2015

With Damian. After three days of strong winds and heavy rain it was nice to get out onto the hills. Parked just off the main road at Scallastle Bay. The path behind the farm was overgrown with gorse and was really muddy. We followed the Scallastle River until leaving the forest then climbed steeply up onto Maol nan Damh ridge. Lots of deer in Coire Mor. Large old cairn on summit. Descended south then southeast towards Mainnir nam Fiadh.Dangerous Dave27/12/2011
