From the end of the public road. Round of eight Tumps todayAndrew Simmons05/08/2023
Parked to SW at end of public road (NS 6667 1540). Bike to ~250m E of Clocklowie (ruins), walked from there on good forest roads and breaks to Earl and Auchtitench Hills first. From there break continues SSW then W to emerge from the forest at NS 7055 1813 (lot of windthrow so veered off through the trees near the end). Rough, wet, tussocky grond to here. On to Clocklowie Hill to emerge out of the forest at the bike. A lot of rough, wet breaks, and as bad out of the forest.jonglew16/12/2021
5th tump of a 6 tump 15.4km circular from Craigshiel, climbing Niviston, Halfmerk, Earl Hill and Auchitench then heading North to track and following it to the junction of rides following ride out of forest then heading direct for the top, recording 461m @ NS 69865 18879. On a wet day, the weather cleared with glimpses of blue sky. Now the long trod South to cross Back Lane heading for Craiglowie...Dazingdale25/09/2019
Round of Niviston, Halfmerk, Earl Hill, Auchintench, West Foredibban, and Clocklowie from parking at end of public road near Craigshiel. Hard getting out of the forest from Auchintench, then plod through lots of tussocks. At least there are 2 cairns.Thearlaichdubh13/04/2019
5 of 6 anticlockwise from road end above Glen Fm. From SE after Auchtitench Hill. Some of the tracks marked on the 1:25k are only rough firebreaks. Pretty hard going underfoot.agentmancuso14/02/2019
#2 of 6 from SW, Craigshiel roadhead, locked gate, after Clocklowie. Heather summit; large cairn c100m NW lower. Then to Auchtitench.RHW28/10/2018

A horror, completely moated by very deep and spongy tussocks. The forest was a relief after this one.Colin Crawford07/11/2016
