Followed the bulldozed track from 43379-15222. HP and trig bagged | Andrew Simmons | 14/12/2023 |
The comment shown above - ground 30m SSE of trig point at NS 42539 15720 is 0.4m lower - is somehow incorrect as this location is perhaps 10m lower! | Matt | 19/06/2023 |
Followed new bulldozed track from 43379 15222. Looks suspiciously lik a new wind farm. | colazione | 26/02/2023 |
Roadside verge parking to SE (NS 4338 1520). Took a line keeping the craigs on my right until past the steepest section then up to the summit and also the trig pillar 150m further NW. Cattle country so messy ground initially. | jonglew | 26/01/2022 |
From gate near South Craig over ridges to hp and on to trig. | lordtonult | 28/07/2021 |
Park at T junction to SE, then up LHS of hill until animal tracks through gorse onto first ridge, then across to 2nd ridge, HP Minimal difference in height. and trig. Impressive hill. | Thearlaichdubh | 14/04/2019 |
Anti-clockwise from gap between plantations to the East. Visited Witch's Stone, trig then Top. Descent route along top of Craigs. Gorse in full bloom. With the F.C. I had been here 30 years before, for rope work on the Craigs. | The Captain | 07/04/2019 |
6th hill of 11 today on a car tour from Ayr inc a re-visit to Craigie hill then Sornhill, Mauchline, Tarbeg and Raith hill. I parked on verge near field gate, about 100m from foresty gate. Used forestry track to access hillside then went to trig via the Witch's stone and then other 245 spot height. My altimeter was a tad higher at the trig. Profiled round to use forest track to return to minor road and car. Next hill:Lindston. | Dazingdale | 07/05/2017 |
Parking was awkward for this one as a council lorry was filling the only likely spot by the junction. I had to settle for a spot half a mile north. Once through the gorse maze, it was an easy rough pasture stroll. My altimeter couldn't split the area around the trig from the 245m spot height to the east | Colin Crawford | 09/02/2017 |
parked at road junction to the south, up LHS of the quarry visited both tops, early morning before work. | robertphillips | 01/02/2017 |
P N of gate into plantation. Through 2 gates into open rough pasture. 2 245m spot heights - one SE of trig the other very close to trig. | chrisbien | 31/12/2013 |
