As others parked east of HP and followed the deer fenceAndrew Simmons16/02/2024
From the east. Headed for the obvious summit after crossing the deer fence (horrible mesh gate) but noticed that the summit had moved. Now outwith the fence but there was an openable gate near the top. Return to east. Going hard over rashy ground.fasgadh05/03/2023
Parked to the SE besides a bench. Then over a deer fence gate and alongside a fence, past a crucifix with the names Shona Isla Jura and Ben Misty Tweed, to close to the summit. Hard going in very long grass so returned due east back to the road ... much easier this time of year.summitter26/07/2022
From east, explored ouside deer fence but had to cross it to ensure HP reached.lordtonult07/09/2021
Round of 5 from Neilston - Knockenae, Dareduff Hill, Knockmade, Corkindale Law and Thornliemuir. Decided easiest way to tackle this would be straight from road due E of summit - once across deer fence it's a simple and quick plod up to top.quadbarrel13/03/2021
Parked on minor road E of the summit in good parking spot with a garden bench to sit on to change your footwear. Followed deer fence around new plantation to reach sliding gate into plantation where the summit appears to be..bjewing16/02/2021
From road to E. Summit is in new broadleaf plantation.sclater07/07/2020
Parked where there are gates on either side of the road S of the summit. Took Minto's useful route, following the deer fence around to it's high point, circling round the summit. The summit appears to be, unfortunately, inside the plantation.LizH11/06/2020
13th and final tump of the day and this hill completed my 50th County on my 50th year, also completing East Ayrshire and thereby completing all of the Ayrshire tumps (North, South & East) plus the Irvine & Garnock catchment. Parked up NS43871 53559 then via gate to follow fenceline Wsw continuing along edge Sw then at a thicker post up and over the deer fence to explore the summit plateaux, recording 237m @ NS 43743 53468 and NS 43726 53506. Walked round quite a bit to make sure. Back the same way to the car then I had to dash off to collect Lesley from Irvine station for the start of my 2nd week touring with her...Dazingdale28/09/2019
Parking very easy to the S of hill by gate entrances on both sides of road. Follewed S side of fence up pasture, alongside 6ft deer fence. At top of pasture, best way is to carry on following the deer fence, across a small fence, and then along an old wall. The deer fence and old wall loop around R (north). When wall ends, fence turns E, then N to the summit. Grass inside the fence is Very long (July).Minto03/07/2019
Parking quite difficult in this area but a pleasant walk up from Uplawmoor on very quiet lanes.49pp01/12/2018
Across fields from Knockenae. Fields are largely full of freshly planted forest. Onwards to Dareduff. Ground to road freshly planted with trees.Thearlaichdubh15/01/2017
Parked to S, pasture and tussocky ridge. Descended direct to roadRHW19/11/2016
up side of deer fence from the east.robertphillips30/06/2015
As Agent except about 15m before the deer fence swings right there is a lift and pull gate to give access to the plantation. High point seems to be about 65m a little E of S of the fence high point. Went back to climb the extra 20cm and feel so much better for it.chrisbien03/01/2015
From ESE. Top is outside plantation so no need to cross deer fence. Keep it on your RHS.agentmancuso02/01/2015
