Took the Via Finniemore up the atv track, bit wet,and on to the summit.Round the minor tops to Cruach nan Caorach and then nipped up Cnoc Madaidh on the way back.ARM23/09/2023
Similar to others - route as per Bolton. Track 300m west of east dam to pylon and then reasonable path all the way up the burn to edge of forest. Open steep grassy slopes thereafter to the summit.benalder28427/08/2023

Parked at end of track and short way up to pylon as per Bolton. Then directly up alongside burn to open ground and summit. Excellent views all round. My last New Graham. Back same route, 105 mins.Coinneach23/05/2023
Parked at west dam and followed forestry track and ATV track as described by others. Cruach Neuran then Cruach nan Caorach, and short diversion to Cnoc Madaidh on return.RobertP17/05/2023

Parked at end of track to Corrachaive. Rode into forest and left bike at 097809. Walked up Cruach Neuran Burn and paths/ATV tracks in forest up to open hillside, then straight up to top. Great views- Mull, Jura, Arran, Munros inland. Back down by Burn.IanHHill11/05/2023
Route as per Bolton. Take track 0.2m west of east dam. Over a gate up the track,to pylon. Lovely path all the way up the burn to the top of the forest from opposite the pylori. Then just steep up grassy slope to the summit. 1hr 15 up. Back same way. 2.7 miles.JulieB20/04/2023
From Corrachaive via Cruach nan Capull. Very boggy in the bealach but still returned that way.davidpettit8408/04/2023
From Cruach nan Capuill broadly following old fence line to boggy area then Cruach Neuran burn through fire break and NE up hillside, finally N to summit cairn. Excellent views. Descended by following burn to where it meets forest track near ascent route. 4 1/2 walking hours with lots of stops.MichaelF26/03/2023
Parked at the east dam. 300m west a track takes you to to an electricity pole. Opposite this a gap in the trees has a path of sorts which leads to a relentless steep climb directly to the summit. Fortunately it only started to rain at the summit so a drenching was avoided. With Anne B and D.Dave.bolton13/03/2023
Parked at Col Dam. Good path up through firebreak, by stream, to open hillside. Steep grass to summit. With Anne, Ralph & Phil.Dangerous Dave13/03/2023
Up track from Corrachaive taking left fork to just past quarry and stream where track deteriorates then up an obvious ATV/path to tree lineand straightforward to summit. Back same way.dickscroop07/02/2023
Via burn/firebreak at the east end of Loch TarsanDaveMcS20/01/2023
Parked in large layby at NS099822, walked into road to Corrachaive, left across river, and along forest road (under reconstruction) to where it crosses Midhill Burn (with new roadstone quarry), into forest along W edge of quarry to an overgrown but surprisingly good track that zigzagged SW up slopes to forest edge, then directly up Mid Hill ridge, turning S and ascending Cruach na Capull, up a gully, to summit, descended E of gully back to ridge following fence line down to wet and boggy col, ascended along Cruach Neuran Burn to beyond forest, then more northerly to E ridge of Cruach Neuran to summit, descended down ridge, entering forest E of the burn, easy going through trees, lucked upon an old vehicle track which continued SE down to the forest road at NS096809, thence back by outward route (4h55m)kdbennett12/07/2022
From Cruach nan Caorach and S top. Descent westwards back down the Garbh Allt Beag track.sclater08/12/2021
Circuit from Corrachaive of Cruach nan Capull and Cruach Neuran. Col between the hills was not too spongy. Descent via Cruach Neuran Burn.vuirich15/07/2021
Fine forest track from Glen Lean then a lovely route up alongside the Cruach Neuran burn from NS09658093, mostly on easy grass until above the trees, with some dead bracken.alda10/04/2021
Andrew's route is very good, a nice walk. Park at end of the forestry track, up past several bends and the ATV track heads up a forested valley between 2 craggy ridges, start grid ref: 067818. Steep, muddy, then crosses the small stream, then runs alongside the stream, good surface, then ATV track up a bog covered in firm, flattened rushes (nasty in summer?). Once out of the trees, it goes straight ahead (faintly) in the same line across improbable looking bogs, then uphill, contours round Meall nan Tiadhan into Gleann a' Mhaim, where it expires. Good going contouring towards Bealach a' Mhaim, then cut across the stream towards the col at 537m, easily up the ridge to the top. Hard to find the ATV track on the way home, but just contour round the end of the ridge, it's easy enough and the re-entry into the forestry is really obvious. No need to climb Cruach nan Caorach unless you really want to.Gill09/12/2020
From NS068829 (about 300m W of dam car park) where a pull-in has a ‘hammerhead’ of two forest roads. L branch climbs steadily up to just SE of point 311. Muddy track laying vehicle track starts steeply up NE, fading in and out to shoulder at about NS073819 where it vanishes in tough heather. Take GPS reading because this shoulder is your key point in descent and terrain features are unremarkable in descent as the ATV track cannot be relied upon as a handrail when it vanishes. Very arduous vegetation and multiple false tops to Cruach Neuran. Back to Cruach nan Caorach from where gravity assist eases the terrain down via the tiny lochan and back to the hard-to-locate ATV track end.Isbjorn17/10/2020
Parked at dam at east end and followed track then path along culvert for a few hundred metres before heading a gap with a stream. Very steep, slippery and hard work. On return headed SE to another gap which was a bit less steep. Wouldn’t recommend either route...govanah14/10/2020
From western Dam Tarsan, using Finnimore route possible to park at track start. Track gains height well to almost highpoint when the excellent ATV track takes out the remaining forest, little boggy as it breaks onto hill. Snow conditions maked hard work of crossing Cruach nan Caorach and the south lumpy ridge, but great approach to fine stone built trig.N.Morters06/03/2020
Straight forward Andrew F route as below. Clear ATV trail from track to hillside. Parking possible at bottom of this track as well as dam.49pp03/01/2020
left car at gourock, ferry over to dunoon, bus to sandhaven, along road and took upper track in glen kin, leacann nan gall, cruach nan capull, cruach neuran south top, cruach neuran repeat, cruach nan caorach, cnoc madaith, along track and road to ardtaraig for the bus back to dunoon.robertphillips21/12/2019
1 of 2: From Glen Lean at 094827 as per PGCE. Made it across 99% of the potentially wet area. BUT! Changed to dry socks at the top.ChrisR02/10/2019
From Glen Lean. Parked at entrance to forest 094827. The stream-line heading directly to the summit is walkable, albeit steep. First, get to the aqueduct (glen bottom potential to be wet). The ascent stream crosses the aqueduct where there are two footbridges, one each side of the stream. It is easiest to climb for about 20m on the north side of the stream before crossing to the left side. Clear route all the way up with just one short diversion into the trees to avoid a step.PGCE24/05/2019
From the west dam I took Andrew Finnimore's route but this seemed to take me up Cruach nan Caorach so bagged that and then followed the ridge around to Cruach Neuran. On descent took a direct line down the stream side fire break back to the dam.Chris Peart26/03/2019
From the South top. Stone-built trig pilar at summit. Returned almost directly W to pick up forest track to E of Cnoc Madaidh.jonglew13/11/2017
Found an enjoyable, though slightly longer way up without the need to thrash through fallen trees up steep firebreaks!Take the forest track just past the west dam (where there is good parking) and at around 027818 go up a steep ATV track taking you to open hillside, thereafter follow faint ATV track towards summit. Some rough tussocky, heathery ground but mostly not too bad.AndrewFinnimore10/05/2017
Follow the pylons to a small rocky step down and turn in to the forest by a fence. Follow boggy path to join firebreak at 08102 83341. This follows a stream and widens. Exit forest at 08246 82716. Easy to summit thereafter.NormanW13/03/2017
With Jenx from near dam. Similar route to that Margriet describes. Warm day, bit of a brutal straight up and no rests!nordicstar28/05/2016
Easy to find a way through the trees, just after steep step down when following power line to the left. Then straight up and down.jenx28/05/2016
From dam carpark up the corridor for small pylons. Find the right fire corridor although a lot of trees have fallen across it,there is away through. Last obstical with three walls seemingly unpenetrable. The way through is top left .duck and you are through to a nice green fire corridor. Rest is easy.done with Alison, Margaret and Jon.tallblond13/03/2016
Park 080 836 along road west for 250 m then up firebreak for 200 m then turn right at clearing go 100m then turn left up vague firebreak windblown trees at first, improves higher up to open ground then the top.robertphillips20/11/2015
With Mora, from Corrachaive, parking at ns104818, hill path at ns098807 not easy to find.BLACKHILL26/09/2014
From Tarsan east dam, limited parking. A steep and awkward tree fight. Followed a break in the forestry as far as the lateral track shown on the map, but soon after the forestry became craggy and impenetrable. Retreated to track, then east and up a narrow stream break that led as far as a clearing at about 083829 but no higher. Fought my way a short distance eastwards to another stream where another broader clearing led to open hill. Returned to this stream expecting it to get me all the way back down, but lower down it became very steep and overgrown. Eventually, after more tree fighting, I got to a track that took me back to car.Topographer5731/05/2014
from 095827. very boggy across road, the slogged up nasty left hand gully. on east side. once above trees it becomes more pleasant and is good viewpoint, not fun in brackenThearlaichdubh01/10/2013
From Cruach nan Capull down N ridge and through very boggy bealach in cleared forest and up to summit. Thence long traverse SW skirting Cruach nan Caorach and down steepening ridge to Inveregain. Back along road to Inverchaolain (18:35). Good fine day.dbb07/10/2012
From the smaller dam, followed the track/water level and then scrambled up - might be difficult if in spate. Followed ridge back to the summit. Decided to head for Cruach nan Caorach to see if could avoid the pine trees.Martin R09/04/2012
Steep up from col with Cruach nan Capull. Even steeper descent to meet the aqueduct at NS094822. Stone built trig.campagvelocet16/04/2010
From N, trail at first then a confusing time with discontinuous rides until escaped the forest. Stone built trig and fine viewpoint at summit.Aye Jimmy12/09/2009
Revisit. Fine rock & grass summit. This time went from 069830, path from 066819 onto open ground.RHW11/07/2009
Parked at NS 094 827 on B836 at junction with forest road. Then a direct way up through forest rides, a stream and steep slopes to ESE ridge and top.Alan Moore10/06/2009
Sunny, snow showers, windy 47mph, good views.iangalbraith21/03/2008
Birthday hill! Parked at dam. Over fence crossed drain and followed electricity poles above road. Turned up first reasonably looking ride to T junction. Left and right to open moor up to visible horizon. Final 50' up to small domey top at 12.30. No cairn. Torrential rain on descent.arranc02/10/2004
Parked just before the B836 crosses over Glentarsan Burn. Ascended via the forest track that runs under Creag an Tamhaisg. From there slogged across to the summit in extreme heat.garyhoney21/07/2000
Date is first visit. Notes from later...fine hill, near-twin with Capull, way thru trees available via burn below 090820. corrachaive, tk to 098808 then thru small trees, desced Neuran from 090820; (2) from NW, see trig RHW03/01/2000
