A pleasant round walk taking in Hen Graig and Cefn Pantglas. Parked by the church at Llangadwaladr | greboicus | 25/09/2022 |
obvious slate outcrop near fence in sheep pasture, windy, murky and drizzly- a fine summer's day. | Denise | 04/08/2020 |
Over sheep pasture from the NNW. Sadly somewhat murky views today. | RichardM | 04/08/2020 |
Parked in Llangadwaladr by the phone box, walked up the ROW a short distance before heading straight for the summit. | clivevilla | 13/02/2020 |
As Aye Jimmy. Parked by phone box in Llangadwaladr & NE up lane to Fach Gynan road gate - Turned left & along farm track for about 70m to gate - Through gate & then up over sheep pasture & along ridge to summit knoll; two farm gates, no fences to cross. (S) | gerrybowes | 09/01/2019 |
Parked by church/old phone box in Llangadwaladr. Took lane NE until near a house then up the hill. Several knolls on summit area, the one furthest W is highest. | Aye Jimmy | 26/05/2018 |
1/4 solo immeasurably beautiful and windy autumn walk, figure of 8 from tregeiriog. No cows today but piles of hares! Stopped using my poles for a bit out of fear of stabbing them. Some blokes had 2 land rovers stuck on the trail below. Saw a peregrine also. Few candidates for high point. Large rocky outcrop to east was immense and windy. | tumpawumpa | 22/10/2017 |
2/7 (Gyrn Moelfree/Hen Graig/Cefn Pantglas/Craig Ysgwennant/Moel y Gwelltyn/Mynydd Mawr/Y Glog) | Fergalh | 23/07/2017 |
From SJ160291 (http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=316095&Y=329161&A=Y&Z=115) - first Cefn Pantglas then Hen Graig. Mist didn't lift so needed careful nav with out of date map. | summitsup | 21/01/2017 |
Attempted along with Craig Ysgwennant. Disappointingly didn't reach the summit, due to it being protected and covered by several fields of cows. Wasn't going to risk it on my own, will try again. | tumpawumpa | 10/10/2016 |
From Llangadwaladr. Made a nice loop of it via the western contouring path. Such a crying shame that what was once one of the finest technical mountain bike routes has now been smoothed to the point you could drive a car up it. There used to be great big steps in the bedrock and water running down it.
If you do come up here make sure you visit the western top. Whilst a tad lower its a fine spot. Rocky to the point of offering some scrambling. The main summit and the rocks just s.e. of offer the best views of the gyrn from anywhere. A great little hill. | stig_nest | 26/04/2016 |
