Followed gerrybowes route to the letter. Many thanks.Dusty16/09/2023
Opted to park roadside to N. at SJ 1542 2094 rather than by sheds- SW along road for about 200m to gate just beyond 2nd corrugated iron shed - 2 gates & along E. side of fence line to a 3rd gate - ESE up a trod/path through dead bracken & then continued ESE over sheep pasture to the summit knoll. Over wall & through mature spruce to other possible top which is clear of trees, but some bramble.gerrybowes26/02/2023
Nightmare hill. Almost appropriate name, almost swallowed me up..!! Decided to follow a track up through the southern Forest the wasn't marked on the map but it was a proper track originally and it seemed that have got a bit overgrown with nettle and her little bit of stuff like that so went over a gate. And it gradually became rather brambly up to the feet high. Dusted to become harder work yet the hillside above if I deviated of this tangled track looked even worse. This persisted for quite some time and gradually got worse. They're send no end to it. Down hill now it looked only 2-300 metres down to an open field and I wondered if that might be better option. Decided to do it. Very bad move. Got worse and worse and seriously worse with dense unpleasant mixture of young oak & birch and fir saplings metre high rose Bay willowherb now quite densely interlaced with bramble up to head height, and occasional wild rose. This was also on quite steep ish ground, so I was having to try and pvegibagger06/06/2022
Parked Llanfyllin took FP through wood alongside stream in NE direction. After coming out of wood straight up pasture N, gate on left near top of field, continue through gate a short way until top fence finishes then back ENE easily through deciduous trees onto summit field. Returned to fp and continued circular onto BrynelltynRob5025/11/2021
There were two possible tops without a sight line between them - one within the woodland on a brambly track and the other on the northernmost of two grassy hummocks in sheep pasture to the west. We found access easier than anticipated up a brambly un mapped forest track to the NE of the summit and then SW with a short thrash back to the RoW.Denise 25/11/2018
Field gate at SJ 1590,2058, N across small field to forest gate and good track zig zaging through woodland up SE slope. At ~alt.260m leave track and easily up through conifers to the NE Top. High point on overgrown brambly track. W along the brambly track breaks out of the trees into sheep pasture and the SW summit area with the 2 rocky knolls and fine views.RichardM25/11/2018
Parked off road to east over the cattle grid. Then up track into wood which becomes overgrown before emerging out of wood. then low fence to step over into summit field with twin tops to visit with Iain and Martin.Dugswell224/11/2018
6/6 no public RoW but easy access from by Pendalog Bridge. Nice hill, was a bit tricky getting straight down the south side towards big field and public footpath.tumpawumpa22/12/2017
From NW. From other comments this is better. Crossed a thistle field then there is a quad bike track straight up through the bracken to the bare summit area.clivevilla03/08/2017

From e, RoW then forest tracks lead to summit pasture, 2 knolls competing for top spot. Nice secluded hill.RHW27/03/2017
Parked at sharp bend by Cilgeyn Mawr and followed track over cattle grid. Felt a bit like a sacrificial lamb scouting this one out for the rest of you. You may want to try going straight up but honestly I'd strongly suggest you dont. 100m or so down the track another track leads up to a gate into Coed Cochion. Theres two offshoots right. The first only goes up so far before descending and the second is a riot of brambles so continue into a short overgrown section which loses a little height. After this a third track goes up right and this is the way I took. Steep climb up to another junction and the summit field comes into view. Continue straight for a further 20 odd metres and a pile of old logs marks an easy over the fence. Grass/bracken up to false summit and then true summit a short distance further. spot height appears slightly lower than other high point. Whats the view like?. No idea! Wet, and low cloud for my visit.stig_nest10/05/2016
