Twiggy's first trig point | desperate dan | 20/07/2023 |
As Campbell Singer, parked in wide forest entrance at 534782 & up forest tracks to junction with path at SH 54009 78673 - Up path to trig point at SH 54043 78675 & then E. to summit. Bracken not much of a problem at this time of year & used secateurs to cut away a fair number of bramble stems. Some rotting windfall close to summit. | gerrybowes | 29/10/2022 |
Not wise in Shorts and a T Shirt!!! | johnbarnard25 | 04/08/2022 |
From the forestry track to the south. Just before it’s high point, turn right and then left at next crest where feint path leads to within 30 ms of trig. Then bramble thrash for another 60 ms to top. | Campbell Singer | 20/04/2022 |
Parked next to a footpath, went through various paths to the summit, there's also a track going all the way up so quite easy to find | Skarletk | 19/03/2022 |
The forestry road entrance says No Parking entrance in constant use and it was in use today (I think it is used for farm access as well as forestry). I parked by the footpath to the west. I followed David Gradwell's directions but just before the summit of the track at SH 54011 78670 I followed a woodland path for 20Mtrs, turned right on a side path which took me to the Trig unscathed. After that the trouble starts! | DC11main | 18/05/2021 |
Forest track to 'hidden' trig then a hackathon to the summit. | curlebd | 18/10/2019 |
Up track from SW through pleasant forest to find ride leading to right | Mark Sims | 30/07/2019 |
My 1st Anglesey tump. Before Lesley and i set out for Plas Newydd i drove up and parked beside an overgrown gate just west off the fp i used to enter the forest and then i veered off on a forest track meeting a guy with his dog en-route to reach a point just West of Trig. So started a wild adventure, up the bank to the Trig (still in good condition) continuing to the Lidar and another higher point further on. I pushed on with extreme difficulty eventually back on the path to explore the 150m knoll to the NE but it was about 5m lower. Back on the fp then a fp Sse to loop round back to the car from the East. Scratches all over. Back to pick up Lesley and onwards to Plas Newydd and Llanddwyn island... | Dazingdale | 15/07/2019 |
Parked at beach car park. Up PRoW to edge of forest at SH 5044 7920. Followed path SE with dry stone wall to the R to fire break / track at SH 5428 7896. Follow fire break / track W then SW to SH 5385 7872, turn L ( E ) up a smaller fire break / track to top of ridge, trig above on the L. HP then another 100m ENE with rough path through the undergrowth. | DanMaisieBex | 14/04/2019 |
David Gradwell gives excellent advice. I managed to get to the top of two possible's - but heavy going, even at this time of the year with brambles etc. | David Evans | 07/04/2019 |
Part of an easy trail run from Pentraeth, includes Bwrt h Arther | Shutterlag | 02/11/2017 |
Peaceful commercial forest trig. High point 100m east | vegibagger | 14/06/2017 |
Parked at track entrance as others at SH 53477 78297. Followed main track to side track at SH 53868 78726. Walked along this for c140m then climbed up into forest. Trig not easy to find due to vegetation and trees even though it's on a pronounced hump. From trig to 'summit' was a nightmare for me due to summer bracken, brambles and fallen trees. I reached a small mossy grassy mound and couldn't determine anything higher so called it a draw. On the way back to trig I got tangled in brambles and had to cut my way out with pruners and thick gardening gloves! I'd come armed!! Note: Lidar data as true summit at SH 54083 78684 which is mid way between trig and high point c90m ENE of trig . | David Gradwell | 04/06/2017 |
Parked near the track into the forest then track to trig then off-piste through prickly scrub to Tump summit to complete the Anglesey Tumps. | Dugswell2 | 26/01/2017 |
From SH 53462 78292 - forestry vehicle entrance but ok for parking at weekends. Clear wide vehicle track for most of the way, then into rough woodland - lot of brushwood, brambles etc - for trig initially then 100m further on for HP. | jonglew | 19/04/2015 |
Parked on B5109 at start of path, the gate looks like it is not in use any more. Hard going off path with all the brambles and undergrowth. | Craig67 | 12/02/2015 |
head up from car park eventaully there is a tack to right off that a track to left than a uick hop up to the trig pillar | Fergalh | 15/10/2014 |
Found the TP ok. Brambles less evident in winter months. | Martin R | 23/03/2014 |
Trig not HP, keep on and faint path goes to higher point to E. | Adrian | 23/03/2014 |
Trig revisit | RHW | 18/06/2005 |
Parked at the roadside at Gors. I recall that we never found the trig and got hideously tangled up battling vegetation in the woods. Nightmare of a hill! | Jake994 | 28/10/2004 |
