After wild camp in Glen Muick, set off 7.50am fr nr Groddie and summitted 9.15am. Night had been windy but no wind on summit! Overcast but some good views of Lochnagar, Mt Keen and Ben Avon. Easy path as long as you head RIGHT after last gate!NorfolkPT2114/03/2024
Parked at Redburn, the house has been empty for a while (NJ 4208 0256). Good estate track leads up the Roar Hill and beyond, then cut across to here over steep heathery ground, quite possibly there would have been a track if I'd stayed on the path from Roar... impatient to get here! On to Crannach Hill, the 2 Culblean Hills, the trig pillar and return for an 11 mile round.jonglew20/09/2023

Solo from the east as per Walk Highland. Lovely, sunny day and doubled this up with Conachcraig after a drive round. The dry summer weather has made the last, steeper bit of the descent very slick, dusty and stony – just take a little care and don't have a silly fall.DampandDusty24/06/2023
From Ballater up waymarked trail on Craigendarroch to a track heading N to the east of Balmenach. Beyond Tom Garchory there is a good track not on the map roughly following the old mapped fence line to the top of Morven. Met the keeper of the visitors book on the top before a direct descent SSE towards Roar Moss for the track S through the woods to the Deeside Way and return to Ballater. Cold, windy but clear with good views from Morven. With Gillian.richard6919/04/2023
With GMac up past the subsiding old farmhouse. once through two sets of gates take hill path (to the right of gate) and straight up! All good until coming down. A bit more challenging due to rubble and heather roots. However good to do!elizyanne11/10/2022
Solo cycle from Ballater campsite. Good track along river Dee avoiding town center to the tarmac road to Lary. Estate tracks toward Morven lodge the East to faint Argo track to summit of Moven. Rideable to top if you're good. (I had to walk last 1km !) Descent to main track then E to Redburn and Raebush. Excellent descent. Road to Lochhead then forest tracks and single track to Burn o' Vat (worth the detour) then single track to Milton of Tullich. Deeside Way from here back to Ballater. If you're a MTB cyclist this is a great way to bag this Corbett. Recommend the Deeside way map 4 (cycle map for the detail forest cycle route)) available at the time of writing, from Cycle Highlands in Ballater.John Lee17/09/2022
Round of M and Mona Gowan from A939 near Glenfenzie. Sunny spells, high cloud, summits clear. Nice easy going between hills, except a few hags on Morven. Nearly at end of walk, passing bee hives, a bee stung me on back of neck. Unprovoked attack! Rounsfell09/08/2022
Parked NJ 3126 0272. Easy walk via Tom Liath, Cairnagour Hill, Mona Gowen, Mullachdubh, Morven. Tracks and atv's on fence lines - lovely walking.carole engel28/07/2022
With Moira from road near GroddieColB20/07/2022
Out and back to Morven from the parking area at the high point in the A939. Bone dry so easy walking - must be a miserable couple of hills in the wet. Fine views, a little bit cloudy.JimT24/06/2022
From A939 parking for a round of Cairnagour Hill, Mona Gowan, Mullachdubh and Morven.rhalstead22/06/2022
Walk up from Balhennie, same route back. Great clear days and some fantastic views.JasonStark21/05/2022
From Balhennie, handy little carpark, straight up steep path to Little Cairn and on to top. Windy, but very sunny - could see the sea. Back down right fork to coll and down good path marked on OS map.Flatfield19/05/2022
Good parking on the A939 just SW of Glenfenzie. Good tracks east to 2km past Morven Lodge, then a good grassy track from point 492 at the col by Tom Garchory, over the minor bump point 731 all the way to the summit. Shame about the cloud base at 500m and the cold northerly breeze, otherwise very straightforward. Then on to the Graham.Owen B24/04/2022
Annual ascent from east with Simon and David and the dogs. Lovely sunny potter.slynch26/03/2022
Top super windy and snow covered , rest nice with bits of ice, approached via the longer side path to the track and left to the topKonstanci29/12/2021
With Annaelle and Colin. Snowy but soft. No winter kit.stalky1412/12/2021

DR FR SR. Balhennie, west to summit & return by path. Overcast with hill list & strong wind improving to warm & fine pm.Vin17/09/2021
From Logie Goldstone by the direct path via the cairns little and mid to the top. Descent by the loop path just below Little Cairn. Breezy but fine day and extensive views . An enjoyable potter with MM.kenmorti06/09/2021
Parked at NJ 31300 02800. From ruins at Glenfenzie used tracks to Morven Lodge, then pick up the tracks to Tom Garchory where another grouse shooting track leads to the top. Makes sense to also include Graham Mona Gowan, by rough and partly tracked route. 5hrs 50mins in total.Jhimmy07/08/2021

From Tom Liath, descended down road past Morven Lodge, crossed Morven Burn then continued E along road. Took track uphill (not on map but roughly follows fenceline). Plenty sunshine today with cracking views187lenny25/04/2021
From carpark at Bellabeg, up track past ruined house and then steeply uphill on well-worn path. Reach Little Cairn and the going eases along the ridge to the summit. Outstanding view of the Cairngorms. Returned via Coinlach Burn, spotted a snake on the way down. 8.8km.PiranhaFish18/04/2021
Climbed quickly from the east on a very windy day, which put paid to any ideas of a longer expeditionRockdoctor09/09/2020
With Rob. Followed the SMC guidebook round from Glenfenzie. Occasional gunshots. Windy and occasional showers otherwise good views.alexmaclennan09/09/2020
A fine stand-alone hill. Track then path all the way from Pt.173 on the road near Raebush and Allalogie, SE of the mountain. Most of this route favours a bike, but easy to walk.summitter06/09/2020
From A939 parking at ca NJ312027 along tracks past Glenfenzie ruins directly up Cairngour Hill, then along the ridge to Mona Gowan, Mullachdubh and onto Morven (joining ATV track to summit after 731m spot height), returning down ATV track, which continues down to main estate track at ca NJ357026), and followed tracks past Morven Lodge to Glenfenziekdbennett05/09/2020
With Steve & RodOik29/07/2020
With Rod and Grant from top of road along ridge to Mona Gowan then on to Morven on almost exclusively good dry going. Followed excellent atv track down from Morven to track then out by lodge to second car and quick run back to pass.SS29/07/2020
Last full day staying locally, so, with the weather not all that bad it was too good an opportunity to miss for a quick afternoon mooch up here.Alex C27/12/2019
Climbed with Andrew Hall, via the abandonned Balhennie farm west of Tarland. Visibilty less than 30m with rain and wind, so no views, acented directly up and descented down the more gradual route diagonally down.chillyman829/09/2019

Mountain bike Ballater to Lary and then along very good tracks to Morven Lodge where I was given permission to lock bike against gate. Round of Morven and Mona Gowan. Excellent daytrimarc216/05/2018
From the lay-bye at Milton of Tullich. A beautiful walk up through the woods, followed by a tough plod on sketchy paths from the South. Wide ranging views. With Ikuko.GWR Chris15/05/2018
From the south. White-out on the high ground.davidpettit8430/03/2018
Good parking at 410044. A decent but steep path behind Balhennie takes you quickly up to 600m. A 3 hour return on this great mountain. Solo.bolton22/02/2018

Made the mistake of starting past the house 300m NE of Balhennie, through the wood and up through the heather. But the path back down to Balhennie was easy enough.Pete R05/04/2017
