Parked in a little green pull in at the beginning of the track to Upper Dagie. Up the track past Upper Broomhill Farm, until through the gate of the last fence beside the forest. Up through deep then a line of burnt off heather to the summit. To descend followed the good path by th wall to the col with Red hill then back down the track. 2.6 miles Just over 1hr round trip.JulieB01/10/2023
From Redhill, trigpillar at summit. Took direct path past impressive cairn back to upper broomhill. Compared notes with Julie in evening.cjo01/10/2023

Easy ascent on path next to dyke. Done after Red hill with Bob. Zero visibility. Was shocked to find a giant cairn south of trig point.Play2End06/05/2023

A short walk from Red Hill, along the track running south of the wall. With Minto & Mntainman.Dangerous Dave05/12/2022
As per others parked in a spot at the end of the tarmac section. Nice easy up and down with the young pupPilotralph 14/10/2022
Quick bag on a wet day. You can drive to upper broomhill, only really space for 1/2 cars, so might have a problem here. Hardly a long walk if you have to park fruther away.hils16/05/2022
Direct from Upper Broomhill. Back down via burnt off heather patches.JGC02/05/2022
Parked at NJ605077, continued along track behind Upper Broomhill, NE then N, left track ca NJ611087 and headed directly W uphill to summit, descending SE down to track, return to parking (55m)kdbennett08/03/2022
Parked at Upper Broomhill, followed track to saddle and then another track to summit.nicolajane24/01/2022
Self and dog, from south. We parked at NJ 606074 but up by the disused Upper Broomhill farm buildings would have been better. Fine day; Bennachie prominent in the view to NE.Invicta1418/09/2021
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: If only I'd been more prepared and read the log of BigJ! Parked at NJ 60600 07700 then headed up the track towards the farm. Decided on a direct approach to the cairn up pathless ground which became increasing steep and the heather was very deep. Robbie found it tough and needed a bit of a carry the rest of us tried our best. Once at cairn we spotted a great track to the trig and once at the trig a massive track down to another track heading back to the parking. Suggest you follow this route. Main track to NJ 61154 09280, follow track and wall to trig.thejackrustles28/08/2021
Up path to col and then due west to summit. Straight down via the large cairn. Unfinished business. This route much easier than the attempt via Red Hill up iced up forest tracks and then over deep heather and soft snow earlier in the winter.sarahk20/03/2021
2/2 with Red Hill from Upper Dagie, easy track from East either side of boundary wall to summit trig and huge cairnPDuncan8225/01/2020

Opportune visit before collecting 3 feral cats (mother and 2 kittens)from vet at nearby Torphins, after they had been neutered. A sparkling afternoon of sunshine, wind and darkening threatening cumulus clouds, that for once behaved themselves. A great vantage point for overlooking the surrounding lower hilly countryside twixt Dee and Don. A very easy track ascent via the col and alongside a wall all way from Upper Broomhill,(which does not visit the large prominent cairn seen on the hill crest from below). Red Hill easily added. The buildings of Upper Broomhill are showing their age since they were documented in 1857 as a farmsteading and dwelling house, the former slated and the latter thatched, and at the time both in good repair.Chris Pearson23/09/2019
With big JNozzer26/06/2019
Parked at the top of the sealed road. Took the marked track to the right of the hill until the wall at the bealach. Followed an ATV track to the trig. Great views.BigJ26/06/2019
From small parking spot where tarmac ends just before Upper Broomhill, NJ606077 - nearly a mile of narrow road and few passing places. Up short avenue of trees, then track NE, then N, to col, then back SW along ATV track beside wall, to top. Direct S fom top, to starting point - not recommended for ascent, because going up against the nap of the deep and rough heather would be purgatorial.Isbjorn27/05/2019

From Upper Broomhill after work. nice area.Dave McG28/03/2018
Parked at jct of Upper Dagie and Upper Broomhill. Up side of farm and up line of single trees, across fence with protection then direct to summit helped by frozen snow. Great viewpoint. Return same way.Coinneach21/03/2018

As other from Upper Broomhill, round the back of the farm, then along the tree avenue uphill. Over the crossing point on the electric fence, then heather via the huge cairn to trig. Fine evening views before darkN.Morters26/01/2018
First hill of 2018, and a nice one. Parked on the verge at the Upper Broomhill/Upper Dagie junction, and followed the track up through the first gate, then took a nice grassy ATV track straight up the hill. This leads to an easy step over the electric fence, with all strands covered in insulation to prevent contact with tender anatomy. Heather bash to the big cairn (views!) and then to the trig. There are ATV tracks down the wall to join the main track to make a circular route, but I wish I hadn't, it was all very icy and a right pain.Gill01/01/2018

Parked by Upper Broomhill and just headed straight up through the heather. Followed the dyke for my return. Second of three for the day.Peterb04/07/2017
Parked just below Upper Broomhill. Good path to the col then followed the dyke to the summit. Headed due south to descend easily through the heather. Solo in 55 minutes.bolton03/06/2017

A break from my drive between Keith and Glasgow! Parked at NJ606074. Ascended direct from Upper Broomhill crossing electric fence via crossing point located on a line roughly between Upper Broomhill and the summit. Deep heather beyond fence. Interesting cairn just before summit.raffemeister14/07/2016
Second time up here, this time shorter route from the other side starting at Upper Dagie farm.mcbboyd18/05/2016
Weather fair.MountainMac24/04/2016
With Jenx. Small parking space at head of the permissive lane, then good track to col. Deep heather from therein a pain but only 7om of ascent to put up with. Back down more directly - mind the electric fence, a crossing is provided.nordicstar22/10/2015
Easy ascent along track from the south to the col. Followed dyke to summit. Fine viewsfasgadh14/04/2015
From 606077, no apparent vehicle access objection or parking problems. Terrain mostly OK, two easy fences and some long heather higher up. At 1530 the last of the sun's rays disappeared below the horizon between Mount Keen and Lochnagar.Topographer5703/12/2014
