From Blett up track then across fields via Forsan.Winterfloodian04/06/2023
From Blett. Fence line currently being replaced, so now good caterpiller track most of way to Holm Field.davefh28/06/2022
Parking space at the end of the tarmac road in Blett. Low mist and drizzle but improved as I got higher. Some indistinct paths or animal tracks to follow alongside the fence. Solo in under 2 hours return.bolton05/05/2022
From Blett. Up the track before cutting across Scroo then up river for easier going on grass. Good views to sunny day, esp. cliffs of BressayN.Morters26/04/2022
Parked at the end of the road at Blett (422291), up the track then directly up onto Scroo, along the ridge up to Holm Field (Hu) then followed the ridge around to Royl Field. From Royl Field took direct line back towards the top of the valley and and then countoured around back to the track. All very dry so pretty easy going underfoot, several animal tracks to follow. Imagine it could be a pretty boggy route after a wet spell. 5.9miles, 1082ft climbing 2hrs 39 walking time.JulieB20/06/2021
From Holm Field. Easy going. Descended northeast then contoured south side of Scroo to rejoin track to Blett. KeithByTheC20/06/2021
Walked up with L from the east coast beach at Mail over Scroo then Holm field -sensational sunny calm views over our home turf of the Burra's - laid out like a map -all clean and sparkling on this magnificent sunny spring morning. We set off steeply down from Holm Field to sample the 'inaccessible' shore of Clift Sound. However we could see that nearby to the N the 2pm forecasted rain clouds were 3 hours early -so veered back uphill to this summit. Able to keep dry feet around the bogs throughout. Shetland sheep up here had given birth to their pure Shetland lambs (no cross breeding) without needing assistance. Looked in the wrong place (as not shown on my old map) for the memorial (and wreckage) of the WWII mosquito - that so sadly crashed on Royal Field killing both crew when diverted from Sumburgh to Sullom for refuelling -having turned back from a bombing raid on the U- boat pens at Trondheim in Norway due to bad weather.Chris Pearson02/05/2021
ACW circuit of Scroo, Holm Field & Royl Field, starting from Peat Quarry 4144 2960). Track to quarry is a bit rough - would not have taken my car (Jazz), but OK in Dave's 4WD. Windy grey day, but tops clear - nice circuit.ger12/06/2019
After arriving at Lerwick in the ferry from Aberdeen. Solo. From car park at church at Flanderstown. Down main road and up road to Blett, then track towards Scroo. Contoured slopes of Scroo and up to Royl Field trig and ground 45m S. Returned over Holm Field and Scroo. Rather windy and cold but no rain. Tops clear.pwbellarby11/06/2019
From HU415295 via Scroo and Holm Field, taking a direct line on the return.Chris Peart08/06/2019
Parked at 414215 at junction (06:20), contoured Scroo, crossed stream and up to summit. Easy going on low vegetation, animal tracks. Lovely morning, good views. Finish7:40.dbb03/06/2019

A nice walk. Drove up the track from Blett and parked below Scroo, then contoured below Scroo to cross the Burn of Mail above the waterfall. Up the hillside on friendly vegetables with firm sheep tracks, then stroll along the broad ridge to the top. Good views of all other south Mainland Marilyns and of Foula. My last Shetland Marilyn.Gill27/08/2018
Parked near the quarry (HU 4144 2959). Scroo and Holm Field first. Ground a bit roung and some hags, but dry and fairly easy going.jonglew27/08/2018
From end of public road above Blett. Turned off track too early, and had to cross lots of fences. Better to carry on up track to peat diggings at Scroo col.PeteN20/08/2018

Parked end of road HU421292, lots of space. Take track to its end, then over Scroo and into bealach. Should avoid worst peat hags. Mild and sunny.iangalbraith23/08/2014
From road end to the east, bit of contouring then up to summit.AndrewFinnimore16/08/2014
Revisit. From NE, Blett road, via Scroo summit, with Tony WhiteheadRHW02/06/2013
Following in the tracks of Jen and Rick but at least we continued to Holmfield and Scroo with Tricky Speirs.Dugswell227/05/2013
From high point on public road at Brett. Up track before a 140m contour round Scroo hill to burn and up direct to Royl top. Continuation to the HuMP and TMP we left to Doug and Tricky, peat hags looked horrendous so just one for chumps! ;-) Back same way and onto another Mariyn.nordicstar27/05/2013
Left car at 200m contour at 408264 (car would have been better left lower down), then followed marked Shetland access route along straight line to about 100m south of summit. About 80m of reascent.Topographer5724/05/2013
