| Parked in the layby at 00978 11912, up the fp opposite which soon becomes a track before emerging onto higher ground where there are various paths going the right direction to the top of Garn Ddu. | From Garn Ddu. Rough tussocks ground before easier pasture like terrain. An abundance of shake holes. Walked a long way north on descent to avoid walking along the busy main road in wet conditions. | A mizzly morning with poor visibility. I was in the area shadowing DoE kids. In a break in activities another leader offered to teach me some navigating skills. I said yes, as long as it ended up at this trig point! We parked in the golf club car park to the south and initially headed up the bridleway then over stile onto open moorland with lots of ferns.
