6 mile solo run loop from Thomastown on some cracking tracks .. climbed up and down from ST012873 .. nice tree and memorial on top (He climbed the highest mountain) .. back on tracks that circumvent the hill to the track at ST017871 which takes you to the lane .. down lane to ST022859 then through gap in fence up to Pen Garth | milejunkie | 11/05/2023 |
From North, along good tracks, but deteriate on entering woods on uphill section, boggy. The summit is hay meadow. | cjo | 29/06/2022 |
A lot easier than expected. From Celyn Isaac. Climb steep road and, a sit levels off, turn sharp left along tarmaced lane. This swings right, up some stone steps at the top of which is a small pedestrian gate. It just about opens leading to an avenue of stumpy trees, at the end of which there is an easy route up pasture to the top. No bog or swamp. | Campbell Singer | 31/08/2019 |
2/2 Not the easiest tump, from Celyn Isaf, over a few gates and barbed wire fences to get there, thankfully no waterlogging this time of year | penbet | 26/07/2019 |
Parked near school and pub to NE and followed FP. Into pasture, after some descent took track into wood by stream, should then have gone through broken gate and traversed upwards, which was the way I returned. Tree and memorial stone at HP. | PeterD | 05/08/2018 |
Parked on minor road just before it narrows to a farm track at ST012870. Tricky access due to waterlogging. Lovely small top with earthworks and memorial plaque under the sole tree. | jonglew | 11/01/2017 |
Parked near school. Not to easy to reach top but easy route back following tracks to farm. | Dusty | 08/03/2016 |
Parked in Cely Isaf, Thomastown. Walk up lane, across fields following tracks to summit. Summit feature is a stone beneath tree and next to a memorial stone. | Ramblingpaul | 25/10/2015 |
From sse, path beside stream then field edges. Hummocky summit area with knoll at highpoint approx at location of OS buried block which I didn't try to dig for. .. My final Rhondda C T tump, on a damp day. | RHW | 24/10/2015 |
As jonglew for parking. Not too waterlogged but pretty much pathless across a tussocky section. Top is very flat. GR given seems to be just over a floppy bwf which was not the easiest. | clivevilla | blank |
