On way back to Ullock after Loweswater round. Gate from NE. Down to the east is Mockerkin Tarn a glacial 'kettle hole' - formed by a stranded ice block in the surrounding morraine during glacial melting. Lots of morraine drumlins and shapely bumps around here -all now grassed over. There is even talk of an esker here -a sub-glacial stream channel-very exciting to fluvio-glaciologists, but try as I might I cant see it ! | Chris Pearson | 21/08/2016 |

Parked in lane, tricky broken fence to cross. Then easy to top of hill from there. | nordicstar | 10/04/2016 |
