short afternoon fell runShutterlag08/04/2022
A late afternoon walk after the rain eased. From Park Coppice Caravan Site along the lakeshore then followed RoW and other FP's across the access land to the awkward narrow stile with barbed wire. Little to see from the summit, due to low mist. A round walk of 8km with 200m ascent in 2hours. (S)silveracorn_alan13/02/2022
Parked opposite the JLR garage and followed path up Torver High Common, stone stile across wall to HP.PeterD24/12/2021
High stile farm is private property no trespassing please….landownerStu8109/12/2021
Parked in small lay-by south of Beckstones. Pleasant walk over Torver Common. Climbed wall to get into summit field. Descended north through a gate and then east through another gate to get back onto the common. The gate had a yellow PRIVATE sign on it, despite the whole area being on Access Land. On circular from Anne Riggs. Followed BW to road and then short section of tarmac to Access Land via car-park opposite garage at SD 2872 9320. Follow easily recognisable paths to left. Negotiate walls. Onwards to Park Coppice campsite via lakeshore - end of circular walk.Meanderer20/09/2021
Well, this is open access in name only. The gate from the main road is fastened shut with a PRIVATE notice painted on. Climbing over leads you upwards to another firmly closed gate. Then there is, if you look hard, a squeezer stile in the next field but .... guess what ... blocked. Moral is, either prepare for a long haul or don't approach from the road!moorsman12/05/2021
Good parking at 2865 9397 to West. Over gate opposite and climb initially right past 1st Gorse and the head left to gate through wall. Right along narrow pasture between walls to a gate 2889 9391. Follow wall around to left until you reach a rock steps stile over wall which is easy to miss 2901 9395. Up to summit. So no dodgy wall climbs required.conanharrod15/02/2021
Went right past the ‘Private’ sign, so didn’t bear off onto the open access land at that point. (Surely, it cant be lawful to have that sign?) Carried on down the path and then doubled back up the fell at a stream. Saw the cross laid on the ground after I’d summitted.madaddo08/08/2020
grassy mound in stone walled pasture with large Getal cross. Dusk. Approach through access land with much bracken and useful narrow stile (gap). Parked at Torver village hall- donation madeDenise 25/01/2020
Roadside parking at a field entrance, without blocking it (SD 2865 9393). Gate opp marked private, but gives onto access land so ignored signage. Couple or 3 stone walls to negotiate from this direction, but parking awkward from the minor road.jonglew09/12/2019
Launch to Torver jetty, walked along lake shore to sunnybank then back up towards the village of Torver encompassing this minor peak but still with great views of the lake, returned to the jettyPootlemum29/06/2019
From FP to north.Wycombe Wanderer10/02/2019
Parked beside Coniston Water at Sunny Bank and up footpath beside wall. Gate at top just after col allows access to summit. Then over Cumbria Way to Fisher High, Green How and Anne Riggs then back over the road by Landrover Garage up onto Torver Back Common. Plus a cheeky pint in the Church Inn at Torver - rude not to!nickywood127/12/2018
As per Rob W descn. No garage, parking by roadside Torver roadsign, opp old bench seat. Into access land nr old gate and skirted gorse to right, old ladder stile in wall, gate in next wall then around back of hill and scramble easy over wall (no disturbance) to summit.nordicstar02/02/2018

Parked in Beckstones across road from Land Rover garage at SD 28749 93162. Paths north to gate at SD 28749 93162. Through this then aim north for narrow gap in wall at SD 28903 93963. This gap would have given easy passage to summit pasture field but for wire fence covering top half. You need to limbo through gap under fence sideways! Not easy for the over sixties!David Gradwell27/04/2016
From S, parking area opposite garage. Pity the old stile over the wall has been barbed-wired... SE summit also visited: a little lower although doesn't seem like it when thereRHW18/07/2015
Short walk from T-junction to W, passing a little mild gorse on the way.Aye Jimmy22/04/2015
On foot from Anne Riggs through Torver to minor road to NW. Used small pedestrian gate to gain 'Private' track to High Stile farm but left it for access land -up to summit.Return same way. The (now defunct) 8.5 mile long Coniston-Broughton railway ran close by. Opened in 1859, closed in 1962 it was used to take copper and slate to Broughton and then to bring tourists. In the summer of 1939 a direct train was introduced from Blackpool Central to Coniston. The 'Fleetwood Boat Train' had a connection with the steamer service between Fleetwood and Barrow. Towards the end of WW1 workmen's trains ran between Coniston and the shipyards at Barrow.Chris Pearson30/03/2015

With Jo, linear walk from Torver to Coniston: out and back to Torver Back Common, then onto Bleathwaite Pasture and The Bell. Weather; high cloud, warm, good visibility.amblerbob20/09/2014
Parking at SD 2865 9391. Walk up minor road fopr 200m then enter lane to High Stile Farm. When the wall on your RHS ends strike up the hill. Farmer unhappy with Open Access designation, elsewhere high walls hinder progress.jimbloomer14/01/2014
