A quick ascent from the minor road. Could have done it quicker, but slippy underfoot.Play2End07/10/2023
Today myself and Alma Aurea headed to Powter Howe for a circular walk taking in six Wainwright's - Sale Fell, Ling Fell, Graystones, Broom Fell, Lord's Seat and Barf, plus a couple of nearby summits. The weather was very warm and humid but from the forecast it looked like this area should stay clear of any thunderstorms or showers, which it did. However, despite the lower summit heights, the hills are relatively independent and quite steep it turned out to be quite a long day with some hot steep ascents! The walk took about 7.5 hours to cover the 15 mile route. We climbed this from the car park before starting the main walk. /Dmeltdiceburg11/06/2023
By torchlight from free Powter How car park to south, Initially, plunged into the vegetation to go straight up but founds unmapped ridge path- much easier -to small cairn in woods, no apparent views. very quick.Denise 01/01/2023

1/8 Powter How from car park, then walked along to Ladies Table via woodland, picked route up to Lothwaite, Rivings and Sale Fell (Revisit) then across to Ling Fell (revisit) and dropped onto Burthwaite Heights. Then contoured round hills to regain access to woodland. After cheeky pint at Pheasant a quick nip up Castle How completed a busy day.nickywood131/07/2020

A fine little wooded hill, especially in winter condition. There is a mapped footpath that encircles the hill and a path across the top. The best way is probably to ascend the steeper south side and descend the gentler north.JohnW10/02/2019
