Trip from Castlebay on 'Boy James', landed at NL567828, along track to NTS house, then W along foot-track up to col betwen Hèacla and Càrnan (NL557823), up to Carnan summit across spongy ground, return by similar route (ca 1h30m)kdbennett19/06/2023
RH Soc trip. 9 of 9thekirkie pirate19/06/2023
Final summit on todays trip. Mist at trig pillar and my legs were starting to complain. On arrival back at Boy James francis informed us we were 1hr faster than yesterdays group. This was no doubt due to the fact that we did not linger at the summits due to rain and mist, wheres yesterday it was wall to wall sun. I great trip organised by Dave Chapman.cjo19/06/2023
On RHSoc booked boat trip. Weather not so good as previous day - got nappy rash. See other comments from crew on same date.davechaffey19/06/2023
First island of 6 from Castlebay via Boy James. Path up grassy slope past bird warden house.N.Morters18/06/2023
A well worn path from the warden's cottage leads to the coll between Carnan and Heacla, from where both summits can be easily climbed.summitter18/06/2023
Surprisingly good path from landing spot, past school to bealach.lordtonult18/06/2023
Very slippery rocks to land on were made safe by walking on wet towels! Simple walk up to the col on a good path, then across grass to the trig. A pair of inquisitive bonxies about but not aggressive. Summited with David J.Dangerous Dave18/06/2023
After Heacla, much easier due to exposed rock. Descent on path from cliff edge to the beach. Hotfasgadh16/06/2023
Island Bagging trip with Alastair and otherstallblond07/09/2021
Boat organised, thanks to Alastair. Mist above 180m, steadily impoving.iangalbraith07/09/2021
Visited Mingulay with Mingulay Boat Trips. Golden Eagle above, seals on the beach below. Views extended up to Barra but haze obscured all but Rum across the Minch.Rob Rees12/05/2019
Dropped off south of the beach, and direct up the hill, past a climbers' campsite and the warden's house (uninhabited). Lanky vegetables made the climb hard work at first, but improving to easy bagging when we reached the lovely pale gneiss pavements. Fine views from the top.Gill06/08/2018
A good day out on the Boy James.Chris Peart06/08/2018
Had a quick dash first over Heacla and to the west coast to check out Gunamul and Arnamul. Then returned over Carnan where I bumped into Gill and Chris in the mist. Such a delight to be back on Mingulay once again.Twice Shy06/08/2018
Fourth of 5 islands on trip organised by Norman Wares and skippered by Francis of the Boy David. Lovely day.Thearlaichdubh23/05/2018
Mingulay Boat Trips father(Francis) & daughter( Rebecca) gave excellent service - a skilled team. Thanks Norman for arranging the five island adventure. Nine hill baggers (6 of which were on the Sep 2017 St Kilda adventure) - all of us visited the five SIB-Mas, with some doing the odd Tu or two. Good company, good weather & a super adventure.ger23/05/2018
4th of 5 islands. Landing a bit trickier due to slimy rock. Simple up and down to main summit only.NormanW23/05/2018
Bishops Isles trip on Boy James. Landed south end of beach. Heacla - Carnan - Tom a Mhaide - Cnoc Mhic a Phi and back down in 2 hours'. Cracker of a day but annoyingly energy-sapping deep spongy mossy surface throughout with precious few animal tracksAndrewFinnimore15/08/2017
RHB trip on Boy James. 3rd of 5 islands. Landed on rocks to S of Mingulay Bay, up past NT cottage and Heacla, then on to Cnoc Mhic a Phi via Eagle Cliff. Lovely sunny day with light seas.jonglew06/07/2014
On the Tricky trip in beau weather. Managed the summit and 3 Tumps. Views of stacks to West, scary propositions! Bonxies reasonably behaved, could have done with another 30 mins for the other two Tumps, was running as it was!nordicstar06/07/2014
Island #1 of 5, Via an inadvertent Timp traverse (Shecla) however I did not touch the cairn so it is not a bag! I need to be more careful with my route choice in future. Great views of the cliffs and the Hump Islands.tim74706/05/2014

Landed at the rocks at the south end of the beach to be met by a couple of families staying on the island. Walked up over Hecla before attaining the top. Looked at the stacks Arnamuil and Lianamuil before returning via the old village to the beach.garyhoney29/07/2001
