From Warrendale Knotts. Through gate in high wall at 832638 on to open fell. KeithByTheC01/01/2024
From Warrendale Knotts. Gate at SE of summit allows direct access back to the road. Solo.Dangerous Dave09/08/2023
9.8 mile circular from the parking area on High Hill Lane. Along Stockdale Lane and up easy grass slopes to Back Scar. Gates provide easy access to Grizedales. We then headed north across an easy fence towards the featureless Black Hill, then followed the Pennine Bridleway around to Jubilee and Victoria caves. Both are worth a slight detour. Up to Warrendale Knotts lovely summit then headed south towards High Hill. A gap in the wall provides access from the summit back to High Hill Lane. 588m ascent in improving weather. Nice views of the higher mountains.DanTrig07/07/2023

Solo, from Greenfoot P & D car park in Settle (£2.30). Warrendale Knotts trig pt & summit, High Hill, then Hunter Bark trig pt & summit. Got up (and down) Warrendale Knotts via a ladder stile at SD 8319 6409, then followed the obvious path between crags to the top.ADT25/09/2022
Up from Settle with C on Dales High Way going up Warrendale Knotts first. Went to HP and then spot height to south.PeterD09/07/2022
Settle, up lane past Co-op to track leading steeply up towards Attermire Scar. At highest point of path turned south on at track which leads through a gateway into the summit area, pathless grass to top and then down north-east to where there is a gate and a stone stile. Then on over Kirkby Fell, Ryeloaf an back over Hunter Bark.Flatfield12/05/2022

A round of the hills (including 3 Deweys) between Malham and Settle from the car park to the south of Malham Tarn (SD 894 658),visiting Kirkby Fell, Rye Loaf Hill, Grizedales, Back Scar, High Hill, Warrendale Knotts and Black Hill. First snowy walk of the 2020-21 Winter. Stunning views of Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent all clad in the white stuff! 22.2km with 720m ascent in 6h40m. (S)silveracorn_alan05/12/2020

small grass knoll in limestone; two similar height, differentiated only by Abney. Muggy, hazy, extensive views across wild sheep pasture with limestone outcrops.Denise 26/06/2020
I thought the limestone knoll at SD83336,63648 was just the higher than the 'spot height summit' by abney - both ways, but not a lot in it. For those continuing S there's a convenient new gate just S of the 'spot height summit'.RichardM26/06/2020

With Jo, from Settle. Ascended by road to south of hill then steeply up track to summit area. Descended over Sugar Loaf Hill and by the Malham to Settle public footpath. Weather; sunny, cool breeze, good visibility.amblerbob07/10/2018

1st of 6 tumps from Settle to Malham YHA, climbing up through Upper Settle then using cycle route 68, veering off at SD82567 63424, heading North then NE then SE to reduce the gradient before heading directly to the summit. Fantastic scenery, especially to the North with the Attermire Scars; great to be back in this part of the world since 2008 with my daughter (Settle and Malham). Descent SE to pick up Pennine Bridleway at Stockdale lane then over the knoll of Low Halsteads to reach open access land, heading for Rye Loaf Hill.Dazingdale24/03/2018

It appears that I identified the correct summit .... phew! Parking immediately beyond the stock pens at the start of Stockdale Lane (alt 297m). Down the lane for a short distance to a stile into the field. Follow the path all the way up to the col where a track leads to the summit. Really is not worth trying to short cut it as there is a nasty wall to climb on the direct line.4.5km return to include Warrendale Knotts. 80 minutesmoorsman18/02/2017
High Hill -> Warrendale Knotts -> Grizedales -> Kirkby Fell -> Rye Loaf Hill, parking at roadside 837629. Cold and foggy, but at least the bogs were partly frozen over at the top! Planned to park up by Stockdale farm as others and do it as 2 shorter walks - note that there are private road/no vehicles signs at the start of Stockdale Lane. It's a very good parking spot up there for anyone braver than me though :)the_adam21/01/2017
