With Sue, parked in layby the right angled bend and entered woods to Brusselton Hill and returned to start and walked N down RoW to farm at track and W through farm and circuit round woods to road and Dere Street and short walk back to car. Good views over Bishop Auckland area.Frank28/04/2023
With Jo, from Dere Street. Outward used footpaths to the north, but found both of the two PROWs to the south much easier: no problems with trees this way. Weather; sunny, mild, good visibility.amblerbob24/01/2023
P east of mast. ROW north of top. 2 stiles and easily through open wood.chrisbien09/11/2022
Roadside parking (NZ 2065 2497). RoW, then into a small wooded area, plenty of trees now down due to storms, a bit of a slog to get there now.matty1971b12/08/2022

Hill Bagging Durham TUMPS on a bike. 5 hills 80k ride. Hid bike in bushes at road bend and walked via ROW over stile and into copse of trees to hill crest.John Lee16/10/2017
On way back from Durham to Penrith, a short detour to enjoy the views, then drive over Darlington's County Top... Lol!nordicstar26/07/2017
Easy to access through wooden gate just south of the 90 degree road bend and up between trees to obvious mound at top. Suggest don't try to access from the footpath to the north (leading from the road bend) as barbed wire and brambles to contend with that way - we tried that and gave up. One of four easy bags today on way from Penrith to Durham.Hillsidenick10/04/2017
Parked near bend, along FP, past remains of tent. Then stile into field. HP amongst new trees.PeterD09/04/2017
Ran up the road from Shildon. Ran aimlessly amongst the evergreens hunting for the summit but difficult to pinpoint.madaddo26/03/2017

Easy parking to east of the footpath (running south of the summit). A short walk along this then cut up to the area of higher ground. Newly planted trees make finding the exact spot quite a challenge, but underfoot it is easy walking.moorsman05/12/2014
Parked to E of hill near sharp bend in road by mast. Summit appears to be in young spruce near a couple of gorse bushes. No trig anymore.Aye Jimmy09/11/2014
