Great views for little effort. Parked up in Melsonby and ran a 6 mile route along a reasonable country road there and back. Climbed the gate near the reservoir and a short climb to the topmadaddo22/05/2019
Passing by en route from Lincoln to Penrith. With Jenx, gorse coming on nicelynordicstar24/02/2019
Been past this little top so many times!jenx24/02/2019
Space to park on RHS of road as you pull off A66. Wandered down road to second metal gate - through this then up RHS of compound to concrete structure on summit.Wheelsy05/01/2019
From the road, up past the new covered resr to the old one at top of the hill, with its trig bolt at centre.jonglew31/12/2018
From SE. Luckily the hill is higher than the reservoir.clivevilla10/09/2018
Nice view.Moorponder14/04/2018
A very satisfying grassy knoll with superb views- including snow dusted hills. Clear suny cold day. Easily accessible from Scotch Corner/ A 66/ layby on side road via rough grass and small wood. On top is the concrete top of a small reservoir with bolt and a grassy mound to the side. There is also a lower, larger, enclosed reservoir.Denise 02/02/2018
From the SE over rough grass and then through small wood to grassy summit knoll with sunken reservoir. Good views include snow dusted hills to the NW.RichardM02/02/2018
Was heading for the OS bolt before I even realised this was a P30.agentmancuso17/10/2017
Fourth TuMP of day and the only one that looked like a proper hill. Very good views to north and east. Was well worth the short detour from A66 on way back to Penrith. Layby parking half way between A66 and reservoir. Easy access through unlocked gate then up to RHS of compound to very obvious top. Easy trespass with no climbing required.Hillsidenick04/10/2017

From parking space closer to A66. Through opening gate and up r/h side of reservoir fence to top.Bramley28/08/2016
Parked in first space nearest A66 then simple walk along road, through gate and up path next to reservoir.Pleasant views from top.catman26/08/2016
A very brief diversion from the A66. Better parking in layby towards A66 than in gateway to reservoir, as this road seemed to be something of a racetrack!Fisky Boy08/07/2016

Park just off the A66, walk north to the first or second gate, then past the right edge of the fenced-in new reservoir. No fences.Pete R23/05/2015
Ascent only takes 2 minutes so park at the entrance to the reservoir. Quick hop over short grass.moorsman09/05/2015
Enjoyable Stop on the A66GordonAdshead02/04/2015
Only 100m from road gate past new reservoir to higher old one. OS bolt in concrete slab on top, but banking to side higher. Early fog clearing to give a nice day.Aye Jimmy09/11/2014
Easy walk from high point of road. Safer parking 150m S towards A66.Minto18/08/2014
