After White Hill. Forgot to look at the map, so turned up the footpath to the war memorial. Rewarded with a wet tramp through rushes to get back on track. Walked back to Singing Ringing Tree CP via the good Burnley Way path and Crown point Rd.Andrew Pearson22/10/2020

From the car park near the Singing Ringing Tree: Pennine Bridleway, Burnley Way, Thieveley Pike and White Hill. Glorious sunny June day. Steep ascent to Thieveley Pike. No other walkers after the sculpture.Lazylizzie20/06/2020
Solo. Thieveley Pike and Carr & Craggs Moor via Heald Moor. Plenty of parking at the southern end of Crown Point Rd.ADT01/06/2020
From car parking by disused quarry at the end of Tower Causeway (near Sourhall Cottages) - Flower Scar Hill (Old Mine Workings) - Summit of Carr and Craggs Moor (found the OS Block) then onward - over Heald Moor (with its Highland Cattle) to the summit of Thieveley Pike (Deer Play Moor) with its OS trig pillar (and fine views) - extended to Irwell Spring (Source of the River Irwell) not the most inspiring place (but you just have to? don't you?). Returned along a similar but different route. Sunny and a walk to celebrate Gareth's birthday.briandavies25/04/2020
From the lay-by on the main rd and took the path along Heald Moor to Heald Moor farm, what a shithole that is. From here headed left along track to the track which heads off to the trig pillar summitWayne Mac20/03/2020

3rd of 5 on Walsden to Rose Grove walk. From Carr and Craggs Moor by well-marked paths. By now the weather had closed in, and a heavy rain shower took away the decent views all around.JOHNS10/08/2019

Pesky rainshower on my dusky return soaked my cotton trousers. Cold and car heater on max.vegibagger24/03/2019
Parked opposite the now closed and being renovated into houses former New Deerplay PH. Car park no longer accessible but room for 1 car in the Old Bacup Road lane junction opposite (use the now closed off junction slip lane). Rossendale Way to Carr and Craggs Moor then over Heald Moor with it’s mixed herd of Highland and Belted Galloway cows. Visited Deerplay Hill and it’s cross on the way back. Irwell Spring is now closed off by a new 5 foot fence. Outstanding views on a crystal clear and mostly sunny day. From Ingleborough to Kinder Scout, most Lancashire Hills, Stoodley Pike and even the Cheshire hills.Nick Caunt11/02/2019
Parked on the minor road to the south. Took the fp over broken and very slippy stiles. Thick hill fog.Campbell Singer30/12/2018

With Jo, linear walk from Portsmouth along Carr Road, Tower Causeway, Flower Scar Road to Carr & Craggs Moor (a couple of boundary stones marked ‘D’ (Deerplay (?)) nearby, then through the squalor of Heald Top Farm, then prow across Heald Moor to Thieveley Pike, descending to Holme Chapel. Weather; sunny, cool breeze, good visibility.amblerbob15/07/2015
Large stoned parking in front of the houses on the large bend on the A671, alternatively there is a layby a short distance south. Good path around the old pits (now fenced off). Don't go through the final access gate up to the brick built structure, instead there is a good summit bound path about 100m east of it.moorsman11/06/2015
