Parked at the car park on the A616 north of Langsett, followed the bridleway SW to the watershed. Dropped down slightly to the Derwent valley and then followed the RoW (a delightful small green track) south until, forking off to Upper Hey, then east on another green trod up the steep escarpment to the summit of High Stones (my penultimate English Dewey). Then north along the summit ridge with a revisit to Margery Hill, before retracing the outward route to the start. A splendid crystal clear winter's day, with frost underfoot and stunning views all round. 18.5km with 570m ascent taking 5h 30m. | silveracorn_alan | 07/12/2022 |
