3 of 5 starting at the go kart place on Morland way. From hollin hill I reached booth farm passed through there to what would be the entrance then left up the wall side to reach open field which lead all the way to the summit. A few abandoned cars and vans on the way upThe-Z-Man07/04/2023

From 05842 68030 up the track and then over a gate into a field. Summit looked slightly more into the field than the GR noted but, if it was, it was not far and only minor.clivevilla23/07/2019
Parked on grass verge opposite entrance to Booth Farm at 0585 6805. Lots of activity taking place at farm & no problem gaining permission to use track. At top of track, over gate & across to the unmarked summit near wall. (S)gerrybowes17/07/2019
Parked at road side SK0548 68101 then down track and past Thirkelow on obvious fp. Barking dog at Broad End. Then skipped over barbed wire fence but slipped in the process and was stabbed in the backside. Undeterred I went up the short steep slope tjen thru a gate and on to the summit. A quiet, pastoral one.John Eley01/06/2019
Thirkelow Rocks - Booth Hill - Hollins Hill - Chrome Hill. Started from near the main rd at Axe EdgeWayne Mac30/03/2019
Hill walking day. I asked permission at Booth Farm.simonshrewsbury30/12/2017
You can drive down into the farm as the public road finishes after it, however, I stopped on the bend before it. No problems having asked at the house for permission to access it.moorsman19/01/2017
Parking: For both Thirkelow Rocks and Booth Hill - Tight by fence at about SK 049694. For Booth Hill, permission was graciously given to ascend.David Evans01/01/2017
Sought permission at Booth Farm but nobody at home.Campbell Singer11/10/2016
Permission easily gained to ascend, though without comprehension as to our interest: ' it does not go anywhere, you know.' HP by wall in buttercup and daisy - filled sheep field.Denise 04/07/2016
Permision to visit granted from house at start of track. Grazing field. Dwarfed by surrounding neighboursRichardM04/07/2016

A hill for anyone who has had medical advice to avoid excitement. The booby trap is old scarifier not mattress.Martin R17/02/2015
Route from Grin Low car Park near Buxtondrwroberts08/02/2015
8th hill of 9 today on hill-bagging circuit from Longnor with brother; High Wheeldon, Aldery Cliff, Dow Low, Hind Low, Upper edge, High Edge ,Thirkelow rocks. Bro was getting a bit fed up of climbing over fences and unfortunately ripped his trousers trying to get past the one fence that then led up to a gate and access to the summit. We took the track down but realised that there might be some explaining to do at buildings so climbed over another gate and descended to another gate to get back onto public fp that goes past the buildings and leads to the access land to climb Hollins hill. There is an old metal spring mattress upside down next to the gate and it looks like some sort of booby trap!Dazingdale04/10/2014
Parked near Booth Farm, which seems to consist of an odd assortment of buildings - a mixture of farm, scrapyard and dwellings. Asked permission from man in barn, a bit reluctant but I said it would only take ten minutes so he concurred. Track up hill past old plant to gate into field and rounded summit near wall.Aye Jimmy11/09/2014

In rain ran/ climbed 3 x 400m tops in between supervising D of e group. Snuck over fence for this one once clear of farm. In 2012 we came past here in the dead of night on the Bullock Smithy challenge walk with a dog barking madly at every one of the 500 plus walkers who toiled past throughout the long night.Chris Pearson04/04/2004
