| I parked just to the east of the works at 8:30am. I headed along the track with the Great Crested Newt signs where I saw a Whitethroat and Redstart. I headed up to the trig and summit rock. Lovely views to Charnwood Forest and the Midlands Plain ruined by the noisy works and the wind turbines. I then headed down to the Midshires Way which I followed before heading up Longcliffe along the Limestone Way. To gain the summit I had to get over the double barbed wire fence. I saw Magpies Mistle Thrushes a Wheatear and Goldfinches amongst others. Lost the Limestone Way and ended up to far west so had a longer road walk back to the car. | A run in the snow from Carsington, via the non-existent footpaths in the works above Harboro Farm, to bag Harboro rocks. Probably done it before whilst climbing but just checking. Then the High Peak Trail and Limestone way to Longcliffe Hill. A couple of walls and barbed wire fences to contend with, but the electric fence is non-functional.
