From west. On returning to car it was blocked in by a tourist who had also blocked gate into field. His wife was unable to move it (he had gone off with keys) and was incapable of understanding what the problem was. Made her take handbrake off to roll it forward. | Nick Canute | 15/04/2019 |

as for Aye Jimmy | arranc | 28/09/2017 |
10/10 from entry to drive to Air Cottage. A quick covert nip over a couple of walls and an electric fence. Passing small quarry below summit. Grabbed a couple of pics and left by same route. | stig_nest | 26/05/2017 |
Parking: SK 13474 50878 Ilam Village. Similar to Mark Sims, only accessed fields at SK 13474 50878. Just about dawn as I reached the summit. | David Evans | 26/03/2017 |
Parked in Ilam village and walked steeply up road north and took footpath to right after wood-by following direction of sign I ended up going straight to summit over one wall and one gate. | Mark Sims | 02/01/2017 |
As Aye Jimmy. Watched the sunrise at 08.00. | Campbell Singer | 30/11/2016 |
From W starting as ngthack up lane to Hill Top Farm, but after gate for lower profile turned sharp right, followed wall along until gateway appeared in higher wall, then up pasture. | Aye Jimmy | 17/03/2016 |
Harder work than a hill 3 times it's size, due to hot weather, inadequate public transport, 'difficult' access, and Spanish tourists following me whilst bush whacking! Glad it's over. Air Cottage was nice though. | DanHolme | 02/08/2015 |
Dash from the west between showers -track and field. In view of Hill Top House so did not hang around, unlike the two successive adrenlin filled sundays many years ago which I spent hanging around literally off old bolts and pegs trying to aid climb across the spectacular roof of Dove Holes Cave down below in Dovedale (got half way). | Chris Pearson | 26/07/2015 |
From west. Up track to house, at first bend straight ahead through gate and head towards lone tree on skyline. Summit tumulus just beyond, next to quarry. | ngthack | 26/11/2014 |
Gate up line of drive to farm | GordonAdshead | 09/08/2014 |
Accessed off Ilam moor lane at SJ133525,climbed over gate, walked up to top of field veered left to find more suitable gate and turned right and then climbed over wall (where top half had been damaged) and walked all the way up to the summit. Highest point seems to be on mound next to quarry. Not the best views although you can just make out Thorpe cloud whereas the ridgeline of Bunster Hill is more
impressive from this point being the same height theoretically. Return same route. | Dazingdale | 24/11/2013 |
340M, 3m, knoll by small grassed ex quarry at summit. from SW, summit itself overlooked by house & farm | RHW | 18/03/2012 |
Accidentally did this as a kid, my folks missed the path to Air Cottage so I remember we cut over muddy fields taking in the summit to get out bearings. | Jake994 | 31/08/2003 |
