Unfriendly hill top in unfriendly weather. Almost a drive over, but walked along track (RoW) leading to Upr Mickle Hey. With Pete | pwheeler | 21/03/2023 |
Short circular walk taking in Wilpshire Moor and Height House Hill. Summit of the latter is hard to access. Walked up road past the farmhouse then a few mts along a track to the left towards Mickle Hey Farm before jumping bwf into pasture. Nice dry day with watery winter sunlight | Lazylizzie | 27/11/2022 |
From ENE, two gates led into summit field for a quick ascent. | PeterD | 15/07/2022 |
What an unfriendly place. No Parking notices everywhere, warnings about CCTV, GOML etc. I parked at the start of the track to Middle Mickle Hey Farm (yes there was yet another prohibited notice there too), walked a short distance along the lane and then over to the summit! | moorsman | 09/03/2019 |
Parked in ample empty car park of Indian Restaurant. Walk along busy road and then a few mts along track towards Mickle Hey Farm before jumping bwf into pasture. | Campbell Singer | 30/12/2018 |

6th of 7 hills today on a route from Blackburn to Rishton, climbing Revidge, Billinge Hill, Stanley Hill, Mellor Moor and Wilpshire Hill, descending South to pick up track past Parsonage Farm then on minor road over the reservoir, spotting about 50 Lapwings in field adjacent York road, taking minor road SW towards Height house but seeing as land looked higher at the back I took the track heading Wsw passing the rear of Height House. I climbed over fence to explore the ground to the west of the house, marking the summit as edge of oblong shaped rough ground in wet pasture, Grid ref SD70438 31386- 116m away from the previous stated summit as being on road next to Height House track. Subsequent e-mail to Hill-bagging has resulted in summit re-location to the LIDAR results of SD 70444 31385.
I continued SE to lower Cunliffe, crossing dismantled railway and then on track passing over the Leeds and liverpool canal to finish at Rishton Railway station. Next stage....Train to Huncoat for the | Dazingdale | 09/12/2017 |

Parked in the large layby on Blackburn Old Road, marked on the 25K map. Followed RoWs to Black Low, across Wilpshire Road, to Blackburn Old Road near the summit. The walk along the busy road was a bit scary but we made it in one piece. With JT. | Sprog | 08/10/2017 |

Almost a drive by. And 236m trig close by with excellent views. | arranc | 05/06/2015 |
From Langho via Dean Clough Reservoir. Had a look at the track by the side of the house, highest point probably closer to the house. Would be nicer walking if the roads weren't so fast. | Jake994 | 18/09/2014 |
Parked about 150m away to S at entrance to field containing Windy Bank trig. Walked up road to house for GPS reading. Can see an area of rough ground behind the house that may be higher... | Aye Jimmy | 26/07/2014 |
Parked at track entrance to north at SD 70558 31464. (Not a very good parking spot but risked it for the 2 minutes it takes to get the job done.) Walked back along road 70m to 238m 25k summit spot height at entrance to Height House at SD 70552 31398. Not a tough ascent I must admit! | David Gradwell | 09/06/2013 |
I visited high ground either sides of the road as difficult to tell where the summit is, then bagged the nearby trig. | Dugswell2 | 11/02/2012 |
