Went from Bulkeley Hill past a large house with a big gate in the middle of it, continued down path until the top of Peckforton Point. With Dad. 9/11.speedyclimber03/04/2024
Continued walk on Sandstone Trail from Bulkeley Hill. Open gateway at about SJ 52622 55985 leads to track through the woods which then joins one of the 4wd tracks. Followed this to summit. With Felix. 9/11RoguePulsar03/04/2024
From Sandstone trail and PROW - then 4 x 4 tracks marked private.JohnIvor03/09/2023
Initially a bit of a bracken bash from the Sandstone Trail path, but soon came out onto a proper 4x4 track which goes all the way to the summit.summitter02/09/2023
As part of a group walk starting at the Candle Factory Car Park.johnbarnard2517/11/2022
With group from the Candle Factory car park, detour from the sandstone trail, up a path through the ferns from the end of a wall, right on an 4WD track and around to the summit.LizH17/11/2022
Across from Bulkeley Hill, from Col, down to FP and then into woods to follow a narrow track up to much wider one which led to top.PeterD17/10/2022

After Bulkeley Hill. Returned to car, parked at road junction to S.PGCE19/11/2021
Parked at the T junction - 530550. Through the gate and along a wet and muddy path to the col. Sandstone trail for about 100 yds then path on the right which leads to summit area. Onto Bulkeley next. Solo.bolton23/12/2020
Unsure of any access difficulties due to construction work at cottage on col so opted for moorsman's route. Parking area by T-junction at 529550 - Through gate & forest tracks to start of path at SJ 5277 5566 - Along path for 100m or so & then up short, but very steep MTB track - On reaching vehicle track turned right & a short walk along track to summit mound. Back down MTB route, up main track to col & then on to Bulkeley Hill. (S)gerrybowes03/12/2020
Walked as part of Sandstone Trail - Coppermine Lane, Bulkeley Hill, Beeston Castle, Peckforton Hills - missed point due to being diverted in the woodsLancylass05/08/2020
A second day out on the Peckforton Hills with Lindsey. Cloudy with sunny intervals, cool breeze. Parked on Mill Lane at SJ 5295 5500. We walked north to Peckforton Gap then north on the Sandstone Trail for approx 300 metres. Through a broken gate into the woodland then, like Aye Jimmy, followed a green track uphill through woods to a 4WD track to the summit. Returned to the Sandstone Trail and followed it to Beeston. Drove to Bunbury Locks before heading home.Skip05/07/2020
As moorsman. The small and v useful rough path is a well frequented mountain bike descent. On to Bulkeley Hill via MBike path return to the elbow - then Fpaths to the top.summitsup23/06/2020
Bulkeley Hill and Peckforton Point in a circular route from 52973 55002.clivevilla21/05/2020
Pronounced Peck4tun (said quickly, NOT Peck-for-ton). March 2020 ....Dedicated parking alongside the road at Bulkeley Mill. Access currently disrupted by building works at the house at the start of the county road at the col. Path legally closed with no real access from the west. No access off tracks in the woods towards Bulkeley Hill. However, if you follow the track from the road at spot height 93 into the trees. On reaching the trees, if you look to your right, a rough path starts, initially paralleling the track you have come off, then leading upwards, getting better and clearer as you ascend. This leads finally to a point close to the summit.moorsman06/03/2020
Lovely walk on ROW up from south through birch woods- plenty of parking for Sandstone Way. Carried on past house at top on SW then broke off into woods to find tracks to top .Mark Sims30/01/2020
From opposite road junction to SE. Bulkeley hill first then as Aye Jimmy for ascent of Peckforton Point.David Gradwell24/02/2019
HP is bracken covered mound at edge of 4WD training track, close to steep edge. Accessed from row to SW through steep open woodland.Denise 13/01/2019
From the SW, once clear of the small fields bounding N side of track a steep ascent through Scots Pines and dead bracken to summit plateau with Landrover track at edge. Blue skies at last.RichardM13/01/2019
RoW goes through the arch of Peckforton Lodge. But soon after has to be left and private tracks followed to gain the summit. Lots of evidence of 4WD vehicles motoring around here - let the trespasser beware!jonglew23/11/2018
It seems that the door through the archway has now been designated a public footpath, though there is no public footpath to the top of Peckforton Point. Indeed there is a landrover driving training track up the hill, with some mean signs down the bottom declaring this private land. Ascended through the bracken and saw a landrover silently training on the track, followed it at a distance very slowly. Unremarkable summit, considering the hill looks great in profile.tumpawumpa30/10/2018
Through the building arch. Ahead to the gate through fence and up tracks and bracken to the right, east.vegibagger09/09/2018

5th of the day on a five Tump cycle from the Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley Castle. After Bulkeley Hill, From the col to the W, at the road end near “The Gate House”, which was up for sale. £375,000 with Strutt and Parker, Aug 2018 since you ask. A family arrived with the estate agent as I cycled off through the open wooden gate up the track into the wood! There is a public footpath sign at the big gate, and another near new-looking post and wire fence. Followed this to 4x4 tracks (none out playing today) and then to summit. Returned same way as everyone was viewing the gardens!! Steep descent SE, then to the Bickerton Poacher pub for a well-earned pint before cycling back to Cholmondeley Castle.Minto18/08/2018
Parked at NT cp Allman's Lane then Larkton Hill, Rawhead, Bulkeley Hill, Peckforton Point and back via Hart Hill (a cracking little summit). Fine views and plenty of caves to explore, with Ed.John Eley20/02/2018

From Bulkily Hill. The house is an arch with a large wooden gate and a small wooden door in the gate. It's straight out of Lewis Carroll. I don't think I should have taken the route through the door but I saw no-one and proceeded into a junk yard. Staggering mess in such a lovely location. Then found track up to top which seems well used by 4wd vehicles near top. Came back the more conventional Aye Jimmy route but still scrap around.Campbell Singer17/10/2017
From gatehouse much as Dugswell. Returned same route. Worth noting that the bulldozed track is a 4by4 safari track. I nearly got spotted. But not quite.stig_nest18/07/2017
Parked on Stone House Lane then took a footpath west to pick up the Sandstone Trial to Bulkeley Hill then continued passed the scrap yard and went into the woods after the third kissing gate. Picked up the track easily and ambled to summit of Peckforton Point.Dugswell222/05/2017
2nd hill of 7 today on part 1: Ridley to Tilston. Climbed Ridley Bank then took fp Nw, Sw to Ridley, crossing A49 & A534 then fp NNw through woodland and then track to Stone House Lane, over on fp but as it veers off NE i continued N over fence and climbed upto ridge where a fp meanders through new deciduous plantings. Followed this keeping close to edge until met forest track and summit is S of trck on bank as it bends round. Descended towards scrap heap area but did wide detour to drop onto Sandstone trail, continuing on to Bulkeley hill....Dazingdale25/02/2017
Parking: SJ 52964 55015. Plenty of room for at least a dozen cars. Did Bulkeley Hill and Peckforton Point. Good advice from Aye Jimmy for Peckforton point.David Evans29/12/2016
Parked to the north east of Bulkeley Hill and bagged Peckforton Point from there.Alan Caine27/12/2016
From Bulkeley Hill to col at SJ 526.559 along Sandstone Trail. Continued N along ST short way to gate on R into ngthack's 'rubbish dump/scrap heap'. Green track through wood then big track to top.Aye Jimmy10/01/2016
Parked at 521551. Along Sandstone Trail then off NE through wood to 4X4 tracks. Back south along 4X4 tracks to summit. Down west through rubbish dump/scrap heap & through wooden door in stone arch. That's what you missed Rob, but it's not obvious from the other side. Back along Sandstone trail again. Cheshire East completion.ngthack09/08/2015
From S, up Bulkeley, then to col, then passed W of house although maybe E would be better or do you go straight thru gate? I'm sure I was missing something obvious... Direct super-steep descent SW to trackRHW11/04/2015

Done as part of a trail race from Duckington to Delamere.Chris92027/09/2014
