Easy drive-up. There's a small car park right on the summit, but both it and the slightly larger car park across the B5408 were full so I parked a little way along St Katherine's Drive.Tony J04/01/2024

Blackrod stands on an important Roman road from London to the North.Situated on high ground with a commanding view it is believed that a Roman Fort was built here. Blackrod was once a major coal mining centre with at least seven pits in the village and over a thousand miners. Today the summit church stands out when travelling along the M61.Chris Pearson31/07/2015
