From Lawrence Hill, down through boggy woodland, saw a full herd of wild deer, then down for couple of minutes on the road and up the main path until the turn off onto the ridge. Back through Limekiln Wood, very boggy in places, in fact parts of the path were actually running water just after the golf course.Stuzinho24/03/2024
From The Wrekin parking area (SJ 6374 0932). The Ercall and Lawrence's Hill first, then dropped down past The Dairypit to road, and picked up another RoW to SJ 6447 0864 whence followed ridge up to here for a Topo R03 completion.jonglew21/10/2023
The usual 4 Bag tour from the main car park - The Wrekin, Lawrence's Hill, The Ercall and Maddock's Hill. A surprisingly popular place at 8am on a Sunday morning.summitter29/05/2022
2/4 From Buckatree Hotel, walked up the tourist route to The Wrekin on a sunny day, then from base of hill curved South East to take footpaths to Maddocks Hill, Lawrences Hill and The Ercall making a pleasant circuit of about 8 miles. Nice early spring walk not too muddy.nickywood104/02/2022
Parked at The Wrekin car park for a circuit of Lawrence's Hill, The Ercall and Maddock's Hill (along ROW track from W, then up edge of wood just before field). 5.5km, 350m ascent.PGCE17/08/2021

From Lawrence’s Hill. Followed ROW until about SJ 64478 08637 where we dived through the woods. There is a path of sorts which follows the ridge up to the summit. Nice views to the W. We continued N picking up the ROW through the golf course. With whole family. 90m ascent.RoguePulsar18/07/2020
We went through the woods. There was nice views at the top to the west. I was with my family.speedyclimber18/07/2020
5th tump of 6 on a route from Ironbridge to Wellington, climbing Strethill, Charlton Hill, The Wrekin and Lawrence's Hill. I descended then headed directly for this top weaving in and out of trees then across the golf course but forgot about the quarry so followed route around the quarry rim and approached from the North. Checked ground in field but no higher. Nice view over to The Wrekin. Backtracked then descended to golf course heading for my last tump, Ercall...Dazingdale15/03/2020
Pleasant woodland walk taking in Maddock's Hill, The Ercall and Lawrence's Hill, mostly using deviations from the Red Route. A lot of unmapped paths made for some confusion at times. If approaching Maddock's from the NNE the faint path on the forest side of the boundary fence is ok but requires quite a bit of stooping under low branches. The pasture side is easier but requires two bwf crossings.milimana13/05/2019
Parked in gateway to the West SJ64180 08932 (and for Lawrences Hill).David Evans02/02/2019
After The Wrekin, The Ercall, and St. Lawrence'sKC08/10/2017
With TJB. From track to west via a much smaller but good track. After Lawrence's Hill and then onto Ercall Wood.trimarc206/09/2017
Followed large track from W to its high point, then L through metal gate. Across pasture to top, then step over bwf to bank overlooking steep slope. Thought field side of fence by reinforced post was higher.Aye Jimmy01/09/2017
Fp from nw from road after completing The Ercall and Lawrence's Hill. After 500 ms leave path into wood and/or open pasture for gentle walk up to top. Still very smelly from the muck spreading farmer. Or is it me. It certainly was following me around.Campbell Singer23/08/2017
Parked on road to east and followed FP that goes northeast and to the west side of the old quarry, once alongside the golf course a small path goes to the quarry edge and then around it. An indistinct path was then followed southwest through the trees to the HP.PeterD18/04/2017
on wooded ridge in between disused quarry and field, accessed from SW.Denise 26/02/2017
From the SW, path on woodland side of field hedge. A few brambles. Original summit appears to have been lost to the now disused quarry.RichardM26/02/2017
Up from road near Dairypit, Path to N end of quarry then SW on narrow path with o'head branches to HP.arranc14/02/2017
Followed the Red route path along an old quarry track & then up along the edge of the quarry in the trees & brambles. Descended by way of the field to SJ 644 086DanMaisieBex29/01/2017

From NW off the little wenlock road. Very ancient track leads almost all the way. The last section of track has gone to seed but easy across pasture. 4 deer disturbed. Top is in trees and nettles.. tegretted that choice to wear shorts. Lovely view toward Stretton hills.stig_nest12/06/2016
With Minnie, from dirt parking area by M-way bridge, easy up ridge to topof The Ercall down past Quarry to minor road & up & accross field to Maddock's Hill, down past golf course back to parking, Sunny & dry.apricorum25/03/2016

Up old road running SE from Lane, then up SE edge of quarry. Faint track up the woodland got very overgrown at top. Much easier to descend down field.GordonAdshead01/08/2015
Parked where the track leaves the road to the west. You have to pass below the first ridge and then ascend the one that runs parallel to it. I made it 647088. The top is mostly brambles and nettles.clivevilla20/06/2015
Point of prominence for my current residence. Shocking that I've been here 18 months and hadn't made the effort before. Scratty bit of woodland at the edge of a field...Jim T17/04/2015
A steep climb up from the car park to Lawrence's Hill then around the quarry edge then across the edge of the golf course to explore Maddock's Hill.Dugswell225/03/2015
Veg a bit of problem at this time of the year.summitsup30/08/2013
Nice 4 mile circular walk from The Wrekin car park, made a change from trekking up The Wrekin ! Apart from the golf course only passed one other person :-) (spent a very cold night up here in the 70's during a ham radio contest with G3ZME )heavyhorses25/05/2013

Part of the usual 4 of Wrekin, Lawrence's Hill, The Ercall and Maddock's Hill. Have been up the Wrekin a few times before but always worth another visit. Enjoyed the adventure of this one, saw quite a few deer en routegreboicusblank
