From Munwhul ATV tracks can be followed from gate most of the way. Then SW top, Gairy of Pulnee and Cairngarroch. A fantastic viewpoint | colazione | 25/02/2023 |

From Munwhul, straight across forest road to gate. ATV tracks slowly rise uphill making the going very easy almost all the way to the summit. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 08/10/2022 |

From Black Loch car park on forest track to NW of Poultrybuie Hill. Small cairn marks start of ATV track up SE ridge to a fence. From here a path leads past 2 large cairns and up ridge to the summit. | Winterfloodian | 23/09/2022 |

Parked at Bruce's stone car park and followed the Southern Upland way to White Laggan Bothy to find a path that can be followed to the Bealach between Bennan hill and Gairy of Pulnee, from here the route took in Bennan hill, Gairy of Pulnee, Millfore and Cairngarroch, you can drop off north to follow the Droughandruie strand to reach the southern Upland way and retrace your steps back to the car park. Eighteen miles in Eight hours with 4000ft of ascent. (parking on the bend south of Craigencallie house and walking West to White Laggen Bothy would make the route shorter) | WAYNE ROWLETT | 11/07/2022 |
Took the tent to Castle Douglas for the weekend, parked at Auchinleck on Saturday 18th June. Headed westerly around forestry tracks before gaining Garlick Hill (trig has no reference plague) then north to Larg Hill, east across Lamachan Hill, Curlywee and Millfore (trig had no ref plague either). Then turned south to Drigmorn and back in car, 09:45hrs all in, dry all day, but a cold strong wind.

Tried these hills in March but fallen trees blocked my ascent up a fire break, hence the circular route around Garlick Hill. | chillyman8 | 18/06/2022 |
From Black Loch with Jan up track then decent atv/path to summit of Millfore. Then cross country over to Cairngarroch (decent path from stile) before returning to Millfore. Gairy of Pulnee was left for another day. | SS | 09/04/2022 |

Day 2 of my Newton Stewart weekend. The single track road to the start was not over provided with passing places. Steady walk up forestry road and onto open hillside with some semblance of a path in places. Slow but steady progress. Windy on top. | langskill | 03/04/2022 |
Started from A712 just E of Craigdews. Followed vehicle track and crossed to path running above W side Tonderghie Burn to join forestry road until NW of Poultrybuie Hill. Short rough ascent to Poultrybuie Hill, then back to track for a while and then short climb to nice summit of Munwhul. Back to track and across to walk N around W side of (felled) forestry to reach ridge and steady ascent to Cairngarroch (quite complex summit area, visiting various high points as well as the cairn. Returned along ridge and continued to Millfore, the interesting top of Gairy of Pulnee, back to Millfore SW top, easy descent S and across to Fell of Talnotry. Descent through forest ride and then rough felled forest to forestry road followed on S side of Black Loch and back to start. Mainly misty and drizzle but some clearances | RobertP | 23/11/2021 |
M600 with Rick & Douglas from forest track just south of end of minor road south of Craigencallie House.
followed forestry track SW to disused quarry then follow easiest line WSW to summit.
After whiskey & cake went on to SW top then back over Millfore summit following atv tracks to Cairngarroch. | mntainman | 09/11/2021 |
Drove in on minor road & parked near end of road south of Craigencallie House. Followed forestry track SW to disused quarry then follow easiest line WSW to summit. Grey & windy at summit. Then off to bag the P11 called Millfore SW Top where it was calm + sunny. Back over Millfore for sunny summit photographs for SS's M600. Then onward to Cairngarroch on easy ground before a porridge like descent back to the car underneath. | Dugswell2 | 09/11/2021 |

Low cloud at 500m. Lonely climb to the top to be met by 3 people (2 parties) in the middle of nowhere in limited visibility. Totally missed the White Lochan of Drigmorn despite being metres away from it on ascent, saw the ripples on descent though! Later on climbed other Graham, Lamachen. | Jhimmy | 29/08/2021 |
Parked at disused quarry to the E (NX 4889 7578). Ground very rough for first 100m to fenceline, then improves. On to the SW Top and Pulnee then return for a short 6km round. | jonglew | 14/08/2021 |
From Black Loch using the cairned quad bike tracks for a while. No view on top and ambushed by heavy rain on descent | Colin Crawford | 31/07/2021 |
Parked near bend on single track Craigencallie road, just near start of forestry track. Walked to the col between Munwhul and Millfore, then struck up hillside to top. 460m climb in around 90 minutes. | willyross | 30/06/2021 |

From Black Loch car park, up forest track to about NX490742 where a small cairn marked the start of an ATV track, which led to a hole in the fence about 500 further on. There the tyre tracks disappeared, but going wasn't too bad beyond. Would have been nice if the cloud had been higher so I could see my surroundings, mind! Solo. From Black Loch car park. Followed track/mountain bike trail round black loch and up to a point N of Poultrybuie Hill where I made short side trip to include this hill. Continued northwards on track , hoping to find a stile to get over the fence and ascend Millfore. Couldn't find stile so climbed over fence (topped with barbed wire). High up joined path coming up via Kirkloch. From Millfore went out to SW Top and back to join the Kirkloch path for the descent. No barbed wire on the fence that needs to be crossed on this route so my outward route was a mistake, really. A beautiful sunny day. | pwbellarby | 31/05/2021 |
