Well, that's unusual. Recommend bucket and rope.Martin R28/05/2023
Parked by chapel in Green Bottom for a circuit of Hangman's Hill, Chestnuts Hill (gate at col easily bypassed over low fence - the barbed wire has been cut) and Edge Hills.PGCE25/09/2022
Mossy trig hidden in blue bell scented woodland, full of birdsong. Well ( dry) nearby, possibly HP.Denise 17/05/2020
Pleasant woodland tracks from Edge Hills. Strange to have a well on top of a hill.RichardM17/05/2020
Parked safely at bottom of Popes' Hill and followed the trails through the woodland to the summit.Gerry the Ranger10/01/2020
Mitcheldean to Littledean. Gate (new?) to N is clearly designed to discourage entrance/exit to the access forestry from the Hangman's Hill col.Smudge10/03/2019
Bagged as YSM148 Chestnuts Inclosure. First real rain of our trip at this one. Walked up the tracks listening to the birdsong and then found the pillar. Lovely woodland walk. Also found the cache, first ammo can seen in a while!thejackrustles24/04/2017
Parked by Pope's Hill and followed well marked tracksRamblingpaul19/04/2017
From road junction to east up muddy tracks. Trig is close to the path so with a GPS is fairly easy to find. Summit is by a fenced off well.clivevilla28/02/2017
Parked next to road junction to the east. Good tracks to within 30 ms of trig point which in September is well hidden to w of summit track.Campbell Singer23/09/2016
Up tracks from east.Barbara Singer23/09/2016

Chestnuts Hill and Hangman's Hill on access land.rhalstead12/04/2015
Approached from WNW on unclear permissive paths(?). HP either at the trig pillar or possibly next to the well. Latter seemed the higher.jonglew31/01/2015
Up from the east side via deeply muddy clay ey path that I had to walk up with legs40cm apart on the drier edges. Nice mossy summit trig with open plug.vegibagger28/12/2014
