7.30am and the 100m of country road from the mast to the summit (ha!) fp was busy with Tilton residents commuting to Leicester. The flatnees of the summit field denied any glimpse of the well named Seldom Seen Farm down to the SE - tucked away in a fold in the landsacpe. Seldom Seen being also one of the main characters in the 1975 masterpiece book Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey that launched eco activism. Close by here the trig lying on its side and overgrown is also seldom seen -except for those who go hunting. Down to the N the habbit of literal naming has perhaps gone too far at Sludge Hall -not great for future marketing. Life Hill did quite well in being evocatively named -although a bare field today with most life currently microbe size and underground. Even Attenborough would struggle to make a 12 part award winning documentary here - or would he -Life in the Field perhaps?Chris Pearson20/05/2022
A quick bag from the road.robertphillips09/04/2022
Circular walk from Billesdon, out direct, return via Cold Newton and Billesdon Coplow. Nice varied ascent, but summit rather nondescript being mostly field and trees, but with distant southern views. Life Hill Trig nearby.praenterprise19/03/2022

Seven summits total from Oakham train station by bicycle with DTL. 33 miles, 2,120ft ascent total. Astoundingly muddy. Right off road. Pretty flat summit. Not that far from Tilton on the Hill on the bikes. Cracking lunch afterwards at Rose and Crown.Fionalevey24/02/2016

Took footpath North from Billesdon to reach the grassy indistinct summit, walked in figure of eights to make sure. The Hill has a lovely aspect looking South to Billesdon and a nice airy expansive feel.Dazingdale11/01/2014
