18/20. In the dark - parking at bottom of track then easily up to reservoir and summit. 15 mins. | Mark Jackson | 05/09/2023 |
Parked at entrance to reservoir (making sure I didn't block access). | DC11main | 05/06/2022 |
Parked in the pub. Really quite pleasant. | Play2End | 12/03/2022 |
Space for one car at entrance to reservoir track on main road SP 255 501. Easy track to reservoir then through woods to summit. | PGCE | 27/12/2020 |
Handy parking spot by the padlocked nature reserve gate and then pleasant stroll up the bridleway on a sunny day. Field/copse boundary and path itself all much the same height to me. Wandered over to reservoir compound but not obviously higher. | milimana | 12/07/2020 |
Parked at SP 24747 50592 which is Wildlife Trust's Goldicote Cutting nature reserve (the reserve is well worth a visit in its own right). Walked SSE along the bridleway to the belt of trees on the ridge - highest point is probable where the shows a spot height of 137. Walked with Sonja on a sunny afternoon. Saw a red kite on the way up. | Skip | 17/05/2020 |
Up footpath from NW. Very hard going using crutches through fresh growth. | GordonAdshead | 13/07/2019 |
1st of 11 tumps on an epic 46.3km traverse from Goldicote business park (via bus from Stratford) to Banbury. On fp heading SE then veering off to explore the high ground, recording 137m @ SP 25318 49985 in rough ground North of the reservoir, SP 25322 49971 next to fence. Went to South of compound before heading for 137m spot height, but only recording 135m @ SP 25374 49586 and SP 25498 49646, beside concrete structure. So ground next to reservoir higher from my readings. Continuing South from track over field to fp around Boundary covert then South to drop onto Shakespeares way to Halford. I stopped here for soup and ordered a takeaway baguette (Expensive). Very rude guy serving! Onwards route to Idlicote hill... | Dazingdale | 01/06/2019 |
In the gloaming at the end of a lovely warm March day. Horse rider in paddock also eeking out the last photons of daylight not wanting the day to end. Visited the collection of possible high points,as noted by others then headtorch out for return to car and a chip supper in Stratford, before a spot of bagging under dark skies. | Chris Pearson | 27/03/2019 |
From A422 on bridleway. | KC | 21/03/2019 |
RoW from NNW, near 104m spot height. Difficult to identify a precise HP, somewhere on the field/copse boundary near the 137m spot height perhaps. | jonglew | 03/07/2018 |
East Side of wood, hint of drizzle | vegibagger | 08/04/2018 |
Fron the NW on exceedingly wet bridleway to the expansive levellish summit with no distinct high point. Wandered the track, woods, the field edge and reservoir | RichardM | 04/01/2018 |
As others, used f/p from the NW with profusion of sloe berries in the hedge. Field edge by wood and S corner of reservoir seem similar height. | Aye Jimmy | 07/09/2017 |
From the nw. Path was very boggy but still an easy walk. Very good views for such a nondescript hill. | Campbell Singer | 16/02/2017 |
As others. Field edge by ditch is fairly flat so had a walk around. | clivevilla | 29/12/2016 |
From NW along BW, then track, then into woods. HP seemed to be near ditch at field edge. | PeterD | 06/11/2016 |
On the path from the NW. High point could be anywhere but I went for arable field on far side of wood. | Herbert Anchovy | 19/10/2016 |
Ascended from the north west, where there is good parking close to the junction with the A422. | JohnW | 05/06/2015 |
From Halford on Bridleways. | rhalstead | 13/03/2015 |
From NW on bridal paths. High points near reservoir and by boundary covert. | arranc | 12/02/2015 |
From NNW, path a bit claustrophobic til opens out. First summit (no spot ht) in woodland by resr, then a dip, second summit (spot ht) NE edge of woodland, or possibly path is as high. | RHW | 13/12/2014 |
Pleasant half hour stroll along ROW after working in Stratford area. | Mark Sims | 11/12/2013 |
in a cereal field | Adrian | 16/06/2012 |
