O: Field by bend at top of main track and banking nearby also contenders. Took reading at ST 66001 95977 on E side of track further S, seemed lower.

O: DTM summit in 2019 survey. Other points only slightly lower; area around ST 6624 9614 is perhaps the best alternative. 2019 v 2017 comparisons indicate large errors in trees.

Logged Descriptions  (logged by 32 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parking at the junction at the end of the road at ST 66656 95900. Just be careful as there is a ditch running along the hedge boundary.DC11main24/06/2023
As per logs of Rob and Fergal - highest point is surely at edge of field around 6624 9614.Matt13/05/2023
Parked to the ENE on grass verge opposite cottage. ST667961.David Evans21/01/2023
Track up from Hystfield to where it turns sharp R. Then turned left, through gate: summit grid reference corresponds to a brambley mound about 20m west of gate.PGCE05/01/2021
up from Bevington. fields and paths waterlogged. Strolled through some logging tracks inn Forrest and reached a satisfactory high point close to main gravel trackcjo27/12/2019
Track up from Hystfield to where it turns sharp R. Thought this area either in field, on banking or just through gate where logging has been going on was higher than the track further S. Continued to trig at Hall Court, some distance away.Aye Jimmy30/06/2019
From Hystfield via the bridle way. I thought jonglew's spot on the track was pretty close to the summit.Chris Peart07/12/2018
1/1 (Upper Hill) I go with pasture being higher summitFergalh26/10/2017
Ran uphill from Hill in a gap between rain showers, swiftly out to trig then slowed to a crawling pace once off paths into the wooded tangle of watery ditches and snagging brambles with no definite summit. Far too reminiscent of some of my more disheartening orienteering moments. Not a summit to go on my Christmas card list.Chris Pearson06/02/2017
Road was closed at Pedington Elm for water repairs so I parked there and walked a little further. Walked a triangle of minor paths at and around 660960 to cover all eventualities.clivevilla23/11/2016
In a hurry... got a ticket for FGR this afternoon!vegibagger22/10/2016
From Hystfield and up lane into wood. Turn south, then west and then into mass of brambles for indeterminate summit.Campbell Singer17/04/2016

From e. 58m spot trackside. 57m spot also trackside but pasture nearby could be 1m higher hence a 58m hp contenderRHW25/12/2015
From Manchester: Fiest of 5 to complete S Gloucs. Parked at T junction to the E: Almost impossible to know what is higher than what in the overgrown forest: Happy to settle for the hp in the middle EW track.GordonAdshead08/09/2015

Last of the 6 South Glos tumps, all in afternoon. Not the most inspiring. Up bridle way possible HP just of track in woods.PeterD16/05/2015
Approached from the east and managed a short circular walk. There is a potential high point in an area of pasture between the wood and the southern tip of Whitcliff Deer Park. Wandered along the track in the wood as well but couldn't identify a definitive summit.Herbert Anchovy14/01/2015
Summit somewhere in Cat Grove Wood. Approached from Hystfield Farm on way to Hill Court Estate trig pillar. Area is deciduous managed woodland, but plenty of rough undergrowth prevented searching off track for a better summit than that presented on track at ST 65998 95976. ***NB. Relocated summit covered en-route from Hystfield Farm.jonglew13/07/2014
